This trip combines the history and excitement of great cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Combine a walk on the Great Wall of China, with endless sightseeing opportunities in cosmopolitan Shanghai, before travelling to Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a Chinese city with multi-Asian and Western elements, excellent shopping centres, sublime temples and numerous dining experiences.
Days 1-2 : UK – Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing and transfer to the hotel.
Day 3 : Beijing
Enjoy a walk on the magnificent Great Wall which stretches over 3,000 miles to the Gobi Desert. Also visit the unique 15th century Temple of Heaven. (B,L)
Day 4 : Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to the treasure-filled Forbidden City, which has the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. Also tour the Summer Palace. (B,L)
Day 5 : Beijing – Shanghai
Fly to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, also known as the 'Paris of the East' and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (B)
Day 6 : Shanghai
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town as well as a visit to the Shanghai Museum. Also walk along the famous Bund with its colonial architecture and explore the restored Xintiandi area with its unique 1920’s style shikumen buildings. (B,L)
Day 7 : Shanghai – Hong Kong
Fly to Hong Kong and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (B)
Days 8-9 : Hong Kong
Enjoy a half day island tour visiting Victoria Peak, Stanley Market and Aberdeen Fishing Village. The afternoon and the following day are at leisure to further explore Hong Kong. (B)
Days 10-11 : Hong Kong – UK
Transfer to Hong Kong Airport and fly overnight to the UK, arriving home the following day filled with many happy memories. (B)
