Great Cities of the China

This trip combines the history and excitement of great cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Combine a walk on the Great Wall of China, with endless sightseeing opportunities in cosmopolitan Shanghai, before travelling to Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a Chinese city with multi-Asian and Western elements, excellent shopping centres, sublime temples and numerous dining experiences.

Days 1-2 : UK – Beijing

Fly overnight via Hong Kong to Beijing.

Day 3 : Beijing

Sightseeing today includes a walk on the Great Wall to appreciate 2,000 years of historical significance and admire the panoramic views. The Great Wall is China's most iconic attraction, which stretches 3,000 miles from the Shanhaiguan Pass on the east coast to the Gobi Desert in the west. Also visit the unique Temple of Heaven. Day 4 : Beijing

Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to the treasure-filled Forbidden City, which has the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China from the Ming and Qing Dynasties and houses over 8,000 rooms. Also tour the exquisite Summer Palace. (B,L)

Day 5 : Beijing – Shanghai

Fly to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, also known as the 'Paris of the East' and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 6 : Shanghai

Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town as well as a visit to the Shanghai Museum. Also walk along the famous Bund with its colonial architecture. (B,L)

Day 7 : Shanghai – Hong Kong

Fly to the cosmopolitan city of Hong Kong and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 8 : Hong Kong

Enjoy a half day island tour visiting Victoria Peak, Stanley Market, Aberdeen Fishing Village and an optional sampan ride (paid locally). (B)

Day 9 : Hong Kong

Enjoy the day at leisure to further explore Hong Kong. (B)

Days 10-11 : Hong Kong – UK

Fly overnight to the UK via Hong Kong, arriving home the following day. (B)
