Explore the best mountain scenery in China

This tour begins with a visit to Mt. Huang which is known for its unique scenery of jagged peaks, twisted pines trees, impressive rocks, misty landscape and stunning waterfalls. Then travel to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai before visiting the beautiful city of Guilin. Next on the list is a visit to the breathtaking Nine Villages Valley, before ending in Chengdu.
Days 1-2 : UK β Shanghai
Fly overnight to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, also known as the βParis of the Eastβ and transfer to your hotel.
Days 3 : Shanghai
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town as well as a visit to the Shanghai Museum. Also walk along the famous Bund with its colonial architecture and explore the restored Xintiandi area with its unique 1920βs style shikumen buildings. (B,L)
Day 4 : Shanghai β Mt Huang
Transfer to Shanghai Railway Station and board the overnight train to Mt Huang, one of the most stunning natural wonders of the world. (B)
Days 5-6 : Mt Huang
Arrive at Mt Huang in the morning. Take a cable car to the summit to enjoy the spectacular views of the oddly shaped peaks, rock formations, thousand year old pine trees and mysteriously ever-changing mist, all of which have inspired local artists for centuries. (B,L,D). The next day, take a cable car down to the base of the mountain where you will explore the ancient town of Tunxi. Transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. (B,L,D)
Day 7 : Yixian County β Shanghai
Spend the day visiting local villages and experience the local lifestyle. Much of the housing in this area dates back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Return to Tunxi and board the overnight train to Shanghai. (B,L,D)
Day 8 : Shanghai β Guilin
Enjoy the morning at leisure before flying to the beautiful city of Guilin. (B)
Days 9-10 : Li River Cruise β Yangshuo β Guilin
Cruise the stunning Li River and enjoy the breathtaking landscape of beautiful limestone hills, tranquil fishing scenes and picturesque villages. Continue downstream to the town of Yangshuo set in the lush green rice paddies of Southern China. (B,L). The next day, explore the colourful local markets, walk along the cobblestone streets and soak in the atmosphere of this charming town before returning to Guilin to visit the stunning stalagmites and stalactites of the colourful Reed Flute Caves. (B)
Day 11 : Guilin β Chengdu
Fly to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (B)
Days 12-13 : Nine Villages Valley
Travel to the breathtaking Nine Villages Valley (Jiuzhaigou), a botanical gallery that is heavily forested and home to many protected species. Entering the valley is like being transported into a different world, where crystal clear lakes gather at the foot of every waterfall and rich dense forests are dotted with colourful flowers. The entire valley presents a seemingly never-ending display of stunning natural scenery that will inspire any budding photographer. You will stay in the area for two nights. (B)
Day 14 : Huanglong β Mao County
Travel to Huanglong, which is renowned for its hundreds of sparkling mineral pools where beautiful colours intertwine and the waters cascade down the mountainside. You will have the option to take a cable car or walk past the many waterfalls to visit Huanglong Temple at the head of the valley. Travel to Mao County in the afternoon. (B)
Day 15 : Mao County β Chengdu
Return to Chengdu. (B)
Days 16-17 : Chengdu β UK
Transfer to Chengdu Airport and fly overnight to the UK via Hong Kong, arriving home the following day filled with many happy memories. (B)
