- Once we have received your booking form and deposit we will send your confirmation documents.

- Do you send us information about the destinations we will visit?
- You will receive a Travel Guide which has information on currency exchange, recommended reading, credit card usage, cultural differences, transportation etc of the region. You will also receive a Suggested Packing List and a Phrase Book to practice your language skills.

- Will I know which hotels I will be staying in before I go?
- Yes. These details will be sent with your final documents. However, these may still be subject to last minute alterations.

- What is the dress code on your tours?
- The dress code while on tour is very relaxed, however please note that clothing covering the arms and legs may be more appropriate when visiting religious buildings. We suggest smart casual attire for the evenings.

- What is the maximum luggage allowance on your tours?
- 20kg per person, as this is normally the maximum allowance on internal flights

- Do the hotel rooms have kettles, irons and hairdryers?
- There is no guarantee that the rooms will have these. If you require these items we suggest you take them with you.

- Is tipping compulsory? If so, is porterage included?
- Tipping is a way of life. We therefore like to honour tradition and offer tokens of our appreciation while on tour. For your convenience on group tours these will be collected by your National Escort on arrival in each country and the compulsory amounts are stated on each tour page. On private tours, tipping is discretionary, however, we will advise approximate amounts. Porterage is included on our group tours to China, but not in Indochina and India.

- You will sample a range of local cuisine with the occasional western meals.

- When will I receive my tickets?
- We despatch tickets approximately 2-3 weeks before departure. If you have booked with an agent, tickets will be despatched to the agent you booked through unless we have been otherwise informed.

- When do you need to have my passport and visa application forms?
- We need these 8 weeks before departure. Please avoid sending passports earlier than 8 weeks as this will lengthen the time we need to hold them.

- How long do you have my passport for??
- If we receive your passport 8 weeks prior to departure, we would normally expect to have them for a maximum of 4 weeks. If you require your passport back earlier, then please let us know, and we can arrange an ‘express’ visa service at an additional charge.

- Can I arrange my own visa?
- Yes you can arrange your own visa but, if you chose to do so, please inform us.

- We require your fully completed visa application form, passports and passport size photo(s).

- Why do you not arrange visas for Laos?
- There is no Laos consulate in the UK. Visas are easy to obtain and inexpensive to obtain on arrival.

- Why do you not include departure taxes for Cambodia?
- This tax is not included in the cost of your airline ticket and must be paid personally at the departure airport in Cambodia and India.

- When is the best time to visit China?
- Generally April-June and September-October tend to be the most comfortable months to visit, however many people enjoy tours at other times of year when there are fewer other visitors

- The best time to visit Indochina is November-April. The wet season is during the summer and autumn and varies by region.

- The best time to visit India is November-March. The wet ‘monsoon’ season is between July-September in the north and July-October in the south.

- Is the water safe to drink on your tours?
- On all of our tours we strongly recommend that you drink bottled water, which can be purchased from local shops and is very cheap to buy.

- What vaccinations do I need before I travel?
- We recommend that you consult your GP or a travel clinic for up-to-date vaccination information.

- Do you allow children on your tours?
- We allow children 12 years and over on our group tours. We recommend that families with children of any age take advantage of our private tours. This will give you more flexibility while on tour.

- What is the average age on your group tours?
- We have a very wide age range of people travelling on our tours. The average age is between 40-65, but younger and older passengers travel with us too!

- Do I have to be super-fit to complete a Wendy Wu Tours itinerary?
- No. As long as you have a reasonable level of fitness this should not be a problem. All tours will involve walking and the climbing of steps. Our tours are by no means strenuous, unless clearly stated in the tour dossier, therefore our connoisseur and adventurous tours require higher level of fitness.

- What is the maximum and minimum number of people that you will take on a tour?
- We never take any more than 28 people on our tours. The minimum number of people that we need for a tour to operate is 8, and 10 to be accompanied by a National Escort.

- As a single traveller, will I be given the option to share?
- On group tours we offer the option to share with a tour member of the same gender. If you are willing to share, you will not pay a single supplement. You will be required to share on overnight rail journeys and cruises; however this may not necessarily be with a Wendy Wu Tours passenger. You will be introduced to your share partner on arrival.

- What star rating are your hotels?
- All of our hotels in China are of international four-star or three-star superior standard unless otherwise stated. All of our hotels in Indochina and India are of local three-star standard unless otherwise stated, but may not have all western amenities. The hotels are selected for their comfort, convenience of location and character.

- Are all meals included?
- All meals (excluding beverages) are included in our fully inclusive group tours. Please note that on some of our connoisseur and adventurous tours, some meals may be basic in remote areas. Meals included in private tours are stated in the itinerary. Meals on our group tours start with lunch on the normal day of arrival and finish with lunch on the normal day of departure. As we offer a range of flight options, passengers may arrive and depart at different times during the day. Any additional meals will be at your own expense and no refund will be made for any meals missed.

- Our tours generally start about 8am and end shortly after your evening meal.

- How close can I get to the pandas in China?
- You will get close enough for a good photo opportunity. It is sometimes possible to touch the pandas at the Chengdu Reserve at a significant extra cost.

- Which cabins are used on your Yangtze River cruise vessels?
- We only use outside cabins so you can enjoy the view. The cabins on the Victoria Prince (Grand Yangtze Cruise tour) also have balconies.

- Will I be travelling with passengers from other countries?
- Our passengers generally enjoy the mixture of British and Australian clients on tour. Occasionally we are joined by English speaking passengers from other countries.
