Days 1-2 : UK – Siem Reap

Fly overnight to Siem Reap via Bangkok and transfer to the hotel late in the evening.

Day 3 : Siem Reap

Drive to the fortified city of Angkor Thom. Start at the Southern Gate and continue to The Bayon, beautifully carved with numerous striking faces, followed by a visit to the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the magnificent Angkor Wat.

Day 4 : Siem Reap

Today we visit Banteay Srei, a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva. Continue to Sras Srang, Banteay Kdei, Kravan, Ta Keo and the fabulous Ta Prohm Temple,undoubtedly the most atmospheric ruin at Angkor, which has been swallowed by the jungle. This evening, climb to the summit of Pre Rup Temple at sunset for a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape.

Day 5 : Siem Reap – Phnom Penh

Fly to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia and visit the Silver Pagoda, the striking Emerald Buddha and the National Museum. We also visit the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crimes; both of which are very moving experiences.

Day 6 : Phnom Penh – Saigon

Fly to Saigon, Vietnam’s largest and busiest city. Visit the Ben Thanh Markets for some shopping.

Day 7 : Saigon

Sightseeing today includes a visit to the former Presidential Palace, the War Remnants Museum, the imposing Notre Dame Cathedral and the French-style Post Office. We also visit Cholon (the Chinatown of Saigon), the beautiful Thien Hau Pagoda and Binh Tay wholesale market for some shopping.

Day 8 : Mekong Delta day tour

Travel by coach to My Tho and enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River to explore the delta, also known as the ‘Rice Basket’ of Vietnam as it is covered with rice paddies and fruit plantations. Visit floating markets, villages, home industries and plantations.

Day 9 : Cu Chi Tunnels & Tay Ninh day tour

Visit the famous tunnel system at Cu Chi and then attend the noon service at the Cao Dai Temple, which is one of the most striking structures in Asia.

Day 10 : Saigon – Hoi An

Fly to Danang and transfer to the UNESCO listed town of Hoi An stopping at the Cham Museum, Marble Mountains and China Beach en-route.

Day 11 : Hoi An

Our walking tour today takes us through the narrow streets of the historic centre of Hoi An where we visit one of the oldest homes, which is still occupied by the descendants of the merchants that built it over 200 years ago. Also visit the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An market and a local Chinese Pagoda. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 12 : Hoi An – Hue

Drive over the Hai Van Pass to Hue, the former historic capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty. Enjoy a cyclo tour to the Imperial Citadel, the centrepiece of the royal empire which was extensively damaged during the Vietnam War. We also visit Thien Mu Pagoda and enjoy a boat trip on the Perfume River. This evening, take part in a cooking class focusing on select local dishes designed for the Royal Courts.

Day 13 : Hue – Hanoi

Visit the Tu Duc and Khai Dinh Royal Tombs this morning. Fly to Hanoi, a charming and richly historic city of lakes, parks and shaded boulevards, also known as the ‘Paris of the Orient’. Spend the afternoon at leisure and in the evening enjoy a performance of the famous Water Puppets.

Days 14 -15 : Halong Bay Junk Cruise

Drive to Halong Bay, the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Vietnam where we will board our traditionally designed junk boat. Relax and enjoy seafood meals onboard. Stay overnight and continue cruising between the nearby islands the following day. Return to Hanoi in the afternoon, driving through the striking rural countryside of the Red River Delta.

Days 16-17 : Hanoi – UK

Sightseeing today includes visits to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed Sep-Dec), Stilt House and Museum, One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. We also enjoy a walking tour of the Old Quarter and a drive around Hoan Kiem Lake. Later, transfer to Hanoi Airport and fly overnight to the UK via Hong Kong, arriving home the following day filled with many happy memories.

    Enjoy a half day tour of the Grand Palace strolling around this architectural wonder of golden stupas and temples encrusted with shining and colourful mosaics. This was the former residence of the Kings of Thailand and you will see the many palaces used for different occasions. Also visit the beautiful Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the striking Emerald Buddha. The afternoon is at leisure to explore this city as you wish.

    Day 1: Arrive Cha'am
    Transfer from Bangkok Airport or from your hotel in Bangkok to Cha'am (approx 3 hours) to the Springfield Beach Resort. This delightful resort is set on a quiet stretch of Cha’am’s unspoiled beach, about 12 miles from Hua Hin. Hotel facilities include an International restaurant, Seafood and Thai restaurant, swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis, fitness room with sauna, steam room and massage and a games room. There will also be the opportunity to visit one of the local casinos for which Macau is famous (minimum age 18). Return by hydrofoil to Hong Kong. (B,L)
