Legendary Temples, a Junk Cruise and Spectacular Cities

Discover the delights of Cambodia and Vietnam from an in-depth exploration of the temples of Angkor to an overnight junk cruise on Halong Bay. With this itinerary, ancient history and spectacular scenery combine to create one of our most popular tours.
Days 1-2 : UK – Siem Reap
Fly overnight to Siem Reap via Hanoi.
Day 3 : Siem Reap
Drive to the fortified city of Angkor Thom. We start at the Southern Gate and continue to The Bayon, which is beautifully carved with numerous striking faces. We also visit the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the magnificent Angkor Wat.
Day 4 : Siem Reap
We visit the temples of Banteay Srei, Srah Srang and Ta Prohm, which is undoubtedly the most atmospheric ruin at the Angkor complex having been swallowed by the jungle. We also climb to the summit of Pre Rup Temple at sunset for a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape.
Day 5 : Siem Reap – Phnom Penh
Fly to Phnom Penh and visit the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, which houses the striking Emerald Buddha and the National Museum. We also visit the Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crimes.
Day 6 : Phnom Penh – Saigon
Visit Wat Phnom before flying to Saigon. Visit Ben Thanh Market for some shopping.
Day 7 : Saigon
Sightseeing today includes a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum. We also visit Cholon (Chinatown) and Thien Hau Pagoda.
Day 8 : Mekong Delta – Saigon
Travel to Ben Tre and enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River to explore the delta, also known as the ‘Rice Basket’ of Vietnam. The area’s rich and fertile lands are perfect for growing rice, coconuts, vegetables and tropical fruits. Enjoy the scenery as we travel through palm-lined canals on wooden sampans passing stilt houses and fish farms. Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda before returning to Saigon.
Day 9 : Tay Ninh & Cu Chi – Saigon
We travel to Tay Ninh and attend the noon service at the Cao Dai Temple, which is one of the most striking structures in Asia. We also explore the amazing network of Cu Chi Tunnels before returning to Saigon.
Day 10 : Saigon – Hoi An
Fly to Danang and transfer to the UNESCO listed town of Hoi An, stopping at Marble Mountains en-route.
Day 11 : Hoi An
Enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An and visit one of the oldest homes, which is still occupied by the descendants of the merchants that built it over 200 years ago. Also visit the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An Market and a local Chinese Pagoda. The afternoon is at leisure to visit the renowned tailors, stroll through the local markets or relax in a riverside café.
Day 12 : Hoi An – Hue
Travel to Hue, the former historic capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty and enjoy a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel, the centrepiece of the royal empire which was extensively damaged during the Vietnam War. We also visit Thien Mu Pagoda and take a boat trip on the Perfume River.
Day 13 : Hue – Hanoi
Visit the UNESCO world heritage listed Royal Tomb of Minh Mang. Later, fly to Hanoi, a charming and richly historic city of lakes, parks and shaded boulevards, also known as the ‘Paris of the Orient’. In the evening, see a performance of the famous Water Puppets.
Days 14-15 : Halong Bay Junk Cruise
Travel to the UNESCO world heritage listed site of Halong Bay which is Vietnam’s most iconic attraction, also known as the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Vietnam. Enjoy seafood meals whilst cruising between the nearby islands and stay overnight on-board the traditionally designed junk boat. Return to Hanoi the following day.
Days 16-17 : Hanoi – UK
Sightseeing today includes a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Quarter where we visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed Sep-Dec), Stilt House, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature and enjoy a walking tour of the Old Quarter. Later, fly overnight to the UK via Paris, arriving home the following day.

Enjoy a half day tour of the Grand Palace strolling around this architectural wonder of golden stupas and temples encrusted with shining and colourful mosaics. This was the former residence of the Kings of Thailand and you will see the many palaces used for different occasions. Also visit the beautiful Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the striking Emerald Buddha. (B)
Day 3: Bangkok
Enjoy the day at leisure to explore this vibrant city. Explore the many beautiful temples, ride on a tuk-tuk, shop at the floating markets or experience the bustling nightlife. (B)

Cha'am Beach Stay - 4D/3N
Day 1: Arrive Cha'am
Transfer from Bangkok to the Springfield Resort in Cha'am (approx 3 hours). This delightful resort is set on a quiet stretch of Cha’am’s unspoiled beach, about 12 miles from Hua Hin. Hotel facilities include an International restaurant, Thai restaurant, swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis, fitness room with sauna, steam room and massage and a games room. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to Springfield Village, Hua Hin and Cha’am night markets. All rooms feature air-conditioning, satellite TV and a mini fridge.
Days 2-3: Cha'am

Then travel to Ngong Ping Plateau to see the Giant Buddha and explore Po Lin Monastery where you will enjoy a vegetarian lunch. Later, visit the culturally themed Ngong Ping Village before ending the day with a spectacular ride aboard the Skyrail cable car.
