Days 1-2 : UK – Saigon

Fly overnight to Saigon via Hong Kong and transfer to the hotel before our welcome dinner of local cuisine.

Day 3 : Saigon

Saigon is Vietnam’s largest and busiest city. Sightseeing today includes a visit to the former Presidential Palace, the War Remnants Museum, the imposing Notre Dame Cathedral and the French-style Post Office. We also visit Cholon (the Chinatown of Saigon), the beautiful Thien Hau Pagoda and Ben Thanh Market for some shopping. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 4 : Mekong Delta day tour

Travel by coach to My Tho and enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River to explore the delta, also known as the ‘Rice Basket’ of Vietnam as it is covered with rice paddies and fruit plantations. Visit floating markets, villages, home industries and plantations before returning to Saigon.

Day 5 : Cu Chi Tunnels & Tay Ninh day tour

Visit the famous tunnel system at Cu Chi and then attend the noon service at the Cao Dai Temple, which is one ofthe most striking structures in Asia.

Days 6-7 : Saigon – Nha Trang

Fly to Nha Trang this morning. Later, enjoy a short tour around this seaside town and visit the Po Nagar Cham tower ruins. These ruins date from the Hindu Kingdom of Champa which ruled from the 2nd to 15th Centuries. The next day, we board our cruise around the nearby islands. Visit the Tri Nguyen Aquarium at Mieu Island, Tam Island and a local fishing village.

Days 8-9 : Nha Trang – Hoi An

Fly to Danang and transfer to the UNESCO listed town of Hoi An stopping at the Cham Museum, Marble Mountains and China Beach en-route. Our walking tour the next day takes us through the narrow streets of the historic centre of Hoi An where we visit one of the oldest homes, which is still occupied by the descendants of the merchants that built it over 200 years ago. Also visit the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An market and a local Chinese Pagoda. The afternoon is at leisure.

Days 10-11 : Hoi An – Hue

Drive over the Hai Van Pass, which provides a spectacular panoramic view of the central coastline, to Hue, the former historic capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty. Visit the Imperial Citadel, the centrepiece of the royal empire which was extensively damaged during the Vietnam War. This evening, take part in a cooking class focusing on select local dishes designed for the Royal Courts. The next day, we enjoy a cruise on the Perfume River and visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the Tu Duc and Khai Dinh Royal Tombs as well as Hue’s largest market, the Dong Ba.

Days 12-13 : Hue – Hanoi

Fly to Hanoi, a charming and richly historic city of lakes, parks and shaded boulevards, also known as the ‘Paris of the Orient’. Spend the afternoon at leisure and in the evening enjoy a performance of the famous Water Puppets. Our city tour the next day includes visits to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed Sep-Dec), Stilt House and Museum, One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, and a walk past the Presidential Palace. We also enjoy a walking tour of the Old Quarter and a drive around Hoan Kiem Lake.

Days 14-15 : Halong Bay Junk Cruise

Drive to Halong Bay, the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Vietnam. Relax and enjoy seafood meals onboard. Stay overnight on the traditionally designed junk boat and continue cruising between the nearby islands the following day. Return to Hanoi in the afternoon, driving through the striking rural countryside of the Red River Delta.

Days 16-17 : Hanoi – UK

Transfer to Hanoi Airport and fly overnight to the UK via Hong Kong, arriving home the following day filled with many happy memories.

    Days 1-2: UK – Phnom Penh
    Fly overnight to Phnom Penh via Hong Kong and transfer to your hotel.

    Day 3: Phnom Penh
    Visit the Silver Pagoda, the Royal Palace and the National Museum. In the afternoon, visit the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crimes; both of which are very moving experiences. We later enjoy a sunset cruise on the Mekong River. (B,L)

    Day 4: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap
    Fly to Siem Reap and visit Angkor Thom, The Bayon, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the magnificent Angkor Wat. (B,L)

    Day 5: Siem Reap
    Enjoy a boat trip on Tonle Sap to visit the floating villages (Aug-Feb) or visit the National Silk Centre in Puok (Mar-Jul). In the afternoon, visit Bantey Srei and Bantey Samre. (B,L)

    Day 6: Siem Reap – Saigon
    Tour the small circuit including the Kravan, Sras Srang and the fabulous Ta Prohm Temple, which has been swallowed by the jungle. Fly to Saigon (B,D)

Cat Ba Island - 4D/3N

Cat Ba Island

    Day 1: Hanoi – Cat Ba Island
    Transfer from your hotel in Hanoi and drive to the port of Hai Phong (approx 2 hours). Catch the hydrofoil to Cat Ba Island (approx 45 minutes) and transfer to the Cat Ba Sunrise Resort. This wellappointed hotel is widely regarded as the best on the island. Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant serving International and Asian cuisine, the Fisherman’s Grill garden restaurant, swimming pool, sauna and massage rooms. All of the beautifully furnished rooms face the beach and feature air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.

    Day 2: Cat Ba Island
    Drive to Trung Trang Cave, which is 10-30 metres below sea level. Situated in the largest valley on the island, the cave was formed by thousands of years of natural erosion of the limestone rock. Then visit Cat Ba National Park to enjoy a walk in the natural surroundings. A packed lunch is provided. Return to the town to explore the local market before ending the day on Cat Co Beach. (B,L)

    Day 3: Cat Ba Island
    Spend the day at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities, stroll along the beautiful beach or further explore the island. (B)

    Day 4: Cat Ba Island – Hanoi
    Transfer to the dock to take the hydrofoil to Hai Phong. Continue by road to your hotel in Hanoi or Hanoi Airport for your onward flight. (B)
