Visit and stay with locals from the Mekong

A great opportunity to meet and stay with a family from the Mekong Delta. You will stay at a family home and see how their life is influenced by the Mekong River. Participate in cooking a local dish with the family and get a real taste of life on the Mekong.
Day 1 : Saigon – Mekong Delta (overnight)
Transfer from your hotel in Saigon and travel to Can Tho. Enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River to explore the delta, also known as the ‘Rice Basket’ of Vietnam. Visit a family run coconut candy factory as well as Cai Be floating market where local women in traditional conical hats sell colourful fruit and flowers and many other items. Then travel by various types of boat to Vinh Long province. Enjoy a local music show and visit a fruit plantation where you can sample the many varieties of fruit grown in the Mekong. You will stay overnight at a local farmer’s house and experience authentic Vietnamese hospitality and their way of life. (L,D) (Accommodation is dormitory-style with basic camp beds and mosquito nets. Western-style toilets and showers are also provided). provided.
Day 2 : Mekong Delta – Saigon
After a simple local breakfast, you will then travel by boat to visit a local pottery factory before continuing by road to Saigon. (B)
