Simply the Best

Take the time for an in-depth journey through Vietnam that spans the entire length of the country. Explore more of the Mekong Delta with an overnight stay in a farmer’s house and enjoy the sunset from a junk boat in Halong Bay. Finish your tour with an optional visit to beautiful Sapa.
Days 1-2 : UK – Saigon
Fly overnight to Saigon.
Day 3 : Saigon
Sightseeing today includes a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum. We also visit Cholon (Chinatown), Thien Hau Pagoda and Ben Thanh Market for some shopping.
Days 4-5 : Mekong Delta – Saigon
Travel to Ben Tre and enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River to explore the delta, also known as the ‘Rice Basket’ of Vietnam. Over the next two day, travel by various types of boats in and around Vinh Long Province. The area’s rich and fertile lands are perfect for growing rice, coconuts, vegetables and tropical fruits. Enjoy the scenery as we travel through palm-lined canals on wooden sampans passing stilt houses and fish farms. We stay overnight at a local farmer’s house where we participate in cooking the evening meal, as well as enjoy authentic Vietnamese hospitality. The next day, continue exploring the Mekong Delta before returning to Saigon.
Day 6 : Tay Ninh & Cu Chi – Saigon
We travel to Tay Ninh and attend the noon service at the Cao Dai Temple, which is one of the most striking structures in Asia. We also explore the amazing network of Cu Chi Tunnels before returning to Saigon.
Day 7 : Saigon – Nha Trang
Fly to the coastal town of Nha Trang and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 8 : Nha Trang
Enjoy a cruise around the nearby islands, stopping at Mun Island for a swim.
Day 9 : Nha Trang – Hoi An
Fly to Danang and transfer to the UNESCO listed town of Hoi An, stopping at Marble Mountains en-route.
Day 10 : Hoi An
Enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An and visit one of the oldest homes, which is still occupied by the descendants of the merchants that built it over 200 years ago. Also visit the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An Market and a local Chinese Pagoda. The afternoon is at leisure to visit the renowned tailors, stroll through the local markets or relax in a riverside café.
Day 11 : Hoi An – My Son – Hoi An
Travel to My Son and explore the Cham Ruins which date back to the 4th century before returning to Hoi An.
Day 12 : Hoi An – Hue
Travel to Hue, the former historic capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty and enjoy a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel, the centrepiece of the royal empire which was extensively damaged during the Vietnam War. We also visit Thien Mu Pagoda and take a boat trip on the Perfume River.
Day 13 : Hue – Hanoi
Visit the UNESCO world heritage listed Royal Tomb of Minh Mang. Later, fly to Hanoi, a charming and richly historic city of lakes, parks and shaded boulevards, also known as the ‘Paris of the Orient’.
Day 14 : Hanoi
Sightseeing today includes a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Quarter where we visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed Sep-Dec), Stilt House, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature and enjoy a walking tour of the Old Quarter.
Day 15 : Hanoi
Travel to Tho Ha Village to witness traditional rural life before returning to Hanoi. In the evening, see a performance of the famous Water Puppets.
Days 16-17 : Halong Bay Junk Cruise
Travel to the UNESCO world heritage listed site of Halong Bay which is Vietnam’s most iconic attraction, also known as the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Vietnam. Enjoy seafood meals whilst cruising between the nearby islands and stay overnight on-board the traditionally designed junk boat. Return to Hanoi the following day.
Day 18 : Hanoi – UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home later the same day.
Day 17 : OPTIONAL SAPA EXTENSION: Hanoi - Sapa
Board the overnight train to Sapa.
Days 18-19 : Sapa
Arrive at Lao Cai station and transfer to your hotel in Sapa. Over the next two days, explore the local area and visit the colourful markets, minority villages, spectacular valleys and fine examples of tribal architecture. (B,L)
Days 20 : Sapa - Hanoi
Transfer to Lao Cai station to board your overnight train to Hanoi (B)
Day 21-22 : Hanoi - UK
Arrive at Hanoi station. Later, fly overnight to the UK, arriving home the following day.

Classic Cambodia - 5D/4N
This itinerary can easily be added to our Vietnam tours with the order of sightseeing modified to best fit flight schedules. The cost is from £690pp including a Cambodian visa and connecting flights.
Day 1: Arrive Phnom Penh
Transfer to your hotel in Phnom Penh.
Day 2: Phnom Penh
Today, choose between a tour to Toul Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crimes and the Killing Fields OR free time at the local markets for some shopping. In the afternoon visit the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and National Museum followed by a sunset cruise on the Mekong River. (B,L)
Day 3: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap
Fly to Siem Reap. Drive to the fortified city of Angkor Thom. Start at the Southern Gate and continue to The Bayon, beautifully carved with numerous striking faces. Also visit the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. This afternoon explore the magnificent Angkor Wat until sunset. This temple took 30 years to build and represents the Khmer civilisation at its greatest (B,L).
Day 4: Siem Reap
Enjoy a boat trip on Tonle Sap this morning visiting the floating fishing villages. After lunch, visit Bantey Srei, a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva and Bantey Samre. (B,L)
Day 5: Siem Reap
Enjoy a morning visit to the Small Circuit including Kravan, Banteay Kdei and Ta Prohm Temple, which is undoubtedly the most atmospheric ruin at Angkor, having been swallowed by the jungle. The temple is cloaked in dappled light with crumbling towers. This afternoon, transfer to Siem Reap Airport for your onward flight. (B)

Day 3: Lantau Island
Travel by ferry across the Victoria Harbour to Silvermine Bay and visit beautiful Cheung Sha beach. This is followed by Tai O Fishing Village, where many homes are built on stilts. Then travel to Ngong Ping Plateau to see the Giant Buddha and explore Po Lin Monastery where you will enjoy a vegetarian lunch. Later, visit the culturally themed Ngong Ping Village before ending the day with a spectacular ride aboard the Skyrail cable car. (B,L) If the cable car is cancelled due to poor weather or any other reason, alternative transportation will be arranged.
