Enjoy a snapshot of the main sights of Vietnam in one concise tour. This concentrated itinerary captures the varied faces of the country bringing to life the beauty of its scenery, the depth of its history and the vibrancy of its people.
Days 1-2 : UK – Hanoi
Fly overnight to Hanoi.
Day 3 : Hanoi
Also known as the ‘Paris of the Orient’, Hanoi is a charming and richly historic city with lakes, parks and shaded boulevards. Sightseeing today includes a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Quarter where we visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed Sep-Dec), Stilt House, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature and enjoy a walking tour of the Old Quarter. In the evening, see a performance of the famous Water Puppets.
Day 4 : Halong Bay Junk Cruise
Travel to the UNESCO world heritage listed site of Halong Bay which is Vietnam’s most iconic attraction, also known as the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Vietnam. Enjoy a seafood meal whilst cruising between the nearby islands on-board the traditionally designed junk boat. Return to Hanoi later in the day.
Day 5 : Hanoi – Hoi An
Fly to Danang and transfer to the UNESCO listed town of Hoi An, stopping at Marble Mountains en-route. In the evening, take part in a cooking class.
Day 6 : Hoi An
Enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An and visit one of the oldest homes, which is still occupied by the descendants of the merchants that built it over 200 years ago. Also visit the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An Market and a local Chinese Pagoda. The afternoon is at leisure to visit the renowned tailors, stroll through the local markets or relax in a riverside café.
Day 7 : Hoi An – Saigon
Fly to Saigon. Situated on the banks of the Saigon River and also known as Ho Chi Minh, Saigon is Vietnam’s largest and busiest city. Sightseeing today includes a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum. We also visit Cholon (Chinatown), Thien Hau Pagoda and Ben Thanh Market for some shopping.
Day 8 : Cu Chi Tunnels & Tay Ninh day tour
Visit the famous tunnel system at Cu Chi and then attend the noon service at the Cao Dai Temple, which is one of the most striking structures in Asia.
Days 9-10 : Mekong Delta – Saigon – UK
Travel to My Tho and enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River to explore the delta, also known as the ‘Rice Basket’ of Vietnam. Visit floating markets, villages, home industries and plantations as well as Thoi Son Island and Vinh Trang Pagoda. The Mekong Delta is primarily rural; however, it is the most densely populated area in Vietnam. Life revolves around the river as people live, trade and travel along the river. The area’s rich and fertile lands are perfect for growing rice, coconuts, vegetables and tropical fruits. The Mekong Delta gives a perfect glimpse into how life once was. Later, return to Saigon and fly overnight to the UK.

Classic Cambodia - 5D/4N
This itinerary can easily be added to our Vietnam tours with the order of sightseeing modified to best fit flight schedules. The cost is from £690pp including a Cambodian visa and connecting flights.
Day 1: Arrive Phnom Penh
Transfer to your hotel in Phnom Penh.
Day 2: Phnom Penh
Today, choose between a tour to Toul Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crimes and the Killing Fields OR free time at the local markets for some shopping. In the afternoon visit the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and National Museum followed by a sunset cruise on the Mekong River. (B,L)
Day 3: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap
Fly to Siem Reap. Drive to the fortified city of Angkor Thom. Start at the Southern Gate and continue to The Bayon, beautifully carved with numerous striking faces. Also visit the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. This afternoon explore the magnificent Angkor Wat until sunset. This temple took 30 years to build and represents the Khmer civilisation at its greatest (B,L).
Day 4: Siem Reap
Enjoy a boat trip on Tonle Sap this morning visiting the floating fishing villages. After lunch, visit Bantey Srei, a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva and Bantey Samre. (B,L)
Day 5: Siem Reap
Enjoy a morning visit to the Small Circuit including Kravan, Banteay Kdei and Ta Prohm Temple, which is undoubtedly the most atmospheric ruin at Angkor, having been swallowed by the jungle. The temple is cloaked in dappled light with crumbling towers. This afternoon, transfer to Siem Reap Airport for your onward flight. (B)

Day 3: Lantau Island
Travel by ferry across the Victoria Harbour to Silvermine Bay and visit beautiful Cheung Sha beach. This is followed by Tai O Fishing Village, where many homes are built on stilts. Then travel to Ngong Ping Plateau to see the Giant Buddha and explore Po Lin Monastery where you will enjoy a vegetarian lunch. Later, visit the culturally themed Ngong Ping Village before ending the day with a spectacular ride aboard the Skyrail cable car. (B,L) If the cable car is cancelled due to poor weather or any other reason, alternative transportation will be arranged.

There will also be the opportunity to visit one of the local casinos for which Macau is famous (minimum age 18). Return by hydrofoil to Hong Kong. (B,L)
