The Metro reveals the Top Things to do in Shanghai

Shanghai is China’s biggest city and is the country’s financial capital, but the former port town is also a hugely popular destination for holidaymakers. 

Millions of people go on tours of Shanghai in China every year and if you are going on such a tour in the near future, there are lots of attractions you can visit and activities to take part in.

An article on the Metro website has come up with the top 11 things that holidaymakers can do in 72 hours in Shanghai and below we have compiled our top five from their list.

Visit Yu Garden

The article says visitors to Shanghai have to “snap like a local” around Yu Garden. The five-acre garden was built back in 1577 and today visitors can learn about the garden’s rich history whilst visiting spectacular sites such as the Jade Rock and the gardens spectacular halls.

Get a massage

China is renowned for offering some of the best massages in the world and a 90-minute massage is a perfect way to beat off any jet lag or ease those weary legs. Visitors to the city will be spoilt for choice as there are a number of massage parlours in Shanghai.

Explore district M50

District M50 is bursting with Chinese art and culture with over 100 artists having studios located there that are open for the public to look around.

Do some Tai Chi
