Here’s our month by month guide to the weather you can expect in Uzbekistan.

Visiting Uzbekistan in January – February

The mid-winter months of January and February are the coldest months of the year in Uzbekistan. Temperatures can hover around zero for much of these months so we wouldn’t recommend touring at this time. Days are dry and bright though and the main sites are almost empty so if you can stand the cold, the photographic opportunities would be good.

Visiting Uzbekistan in March – April

Temperatures begin to climb in March and by April are into the twenties making touring very comfortable indeed. You’ll have slightly more chance of rain than in January or February but it’s still largely dry – this is the desert after all! Flowers are in bloom in the meadows of the mountains and this is a delightful time to visit.

Visiting Uzbekistan in May – June

April through to June is a very popular time to visit Uzbekistan as temperatures are pleasantly warm, generally in the high twenties, with minimal rainfall. Traditional markets spring up along the roadsides and this is a great time to observe daily life in Uzbekistan.

Visiting Uzbekistan in July – August

July and August are scorchingly hot, with temperatures in the high 30s and are best avoided. Travellig and sightseeing during these months would be very uncomfortable.

Visiting Uzbekistan in September – October

Along with spring, the autumn months are the most popular ones to visit Uzbekistan. Temperatures fall to the far more pleasant mid-twenties, perfect for strolling amongst the country’s incredible architecture and natural beauty. Autumn tends to be typically drier than spring so for many.

Visiting Uzbekistan in November – December

Winter arrives in Uzbekistan in November and temperatures drop into single figures by the time December rolls along. In the far north temperatures can really plummet.  For this reason we don’t recommend travelling during these months.
