The esteemed prize, awarded every two years in memory of Dr Michel Batisse, is given for excellence in the management of biosphere reserves according to the recommendations of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unesco.org\/new\/en\/natural-sciences\/environment\/ecological-sciences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Seville Strategy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to China&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/en.people.cn\/n3\/2016\/0321\/c90883-9033051.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">People&#8217;s Daily<\/a>, a documentary about\u00a0Wudalianchi was aired at the ceremony. This documentary depicted the challenges of managing its delicate ecosystem and China&#8217;s success at creating solutions to tackle\u00a0these environmental challenges\u00a0head on.<\/p>\n<p>Wudalianchi&#8217;s has now been formally recognised as China&#8217;s best example of conservation and sustainable development, which will help the country on its way to becoming a greener Economy. This has recently been unveiled\u00a0in their Five Year Plan, which for the first time lays great emphasis on the environment and tackling problems with increasing carbon emissions.<\/p>\n<h2>Wudalianchi&#8217;s Award: Great for Tourism<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_2224\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/wudalianchi.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2224\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2224\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/wudalianchi.jpg\" alt=\"wudalianchi\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/wudalianchi.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.wendywutours.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/wudalianchi-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2224\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\"><em>File Photo from People&#8217;s Daily<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s now expected that tourism to the Wudalianchi nature reserve will rise &#8211; and efforts to continue its conservation will double. Located 350km north of the city of Harbin, tourists can take a bus or train to the entrance and continue their tour of the reserve by private minivan. Tourists on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.co.uk\/china\/?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=post&amp;utm_campaign=wudalianchi\">China holidays<\/a>\u00a0will not only discover clear-blue\u00a0lakes and stunning forests, but also many local\u00a0<span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">Buddhist temples.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unesco.org\/mabdb\/br\/brdir\/directory\/biores.asp?mode=all&amp;code=CPR+23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UNESCO&#8217;s data<\/a> from 2007 quotes that 56,730 people live in the Wudalianchi nature reserve, and their cultural customs can be seen all around it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also expected that scientific tourism will\u00a0grow exponentially. Biologists will be encouraged to study the biodiversity of the reserve.
