For now, let\u2019s take you through the tour and show you all\nthe exciting things you\u2019ll see and do: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1-2 \u2013 Fly to Chongqing <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fly overnight to the bustling city of Chongqing, the gateway to the Yangtze River and one of the largest cities in China. Depending on the time of your arrival, the rest of the day is at your leisure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 3 \u2013 Discover Dazu <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travel to Dazu, which is home to the UNESCO protected Dazu\nRock Carvings. Thousands of symbols were carved on over 70 sites between the 9th<\/sup>\n\u2013 13th<\/sup> century and they are some of the best-preserved carvings in\nthe world. From here, you\u2019ll have some free time to enjoy Dazu before heading\nback to Chongqing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 4 \u2013 Wulong <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of Wendy\u2019s favourite highlights, you\u2019ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage site and spend time strolling through the national park, which has some of the most breath-taking scenery in the world. See naturally formed stone bridges, narrow gorges and limestone formations. You\u2019ll also see the famous Three Bridges National Park and Fairy Mountain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 5 \u2013 Chongqing <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today it’s back to Chongqing to spend some time in one of our favourite cities. You\u2019ll begin the day by heading to a 75-meter high stilt house, build along the bank of the Jialing River. From here you\u2019ll head to E\u2019ling Park \u2013 a green oasis of peace overlooking the bustling city of Chongqing. You\u2019ll return to city for a traditional Chinese Hot Pot dinner (take a look at our China Foodie blog<\/a><\/strong> to find out more about this dish!) before boarding your 3 night cruise on the river Yangtze. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 6 -7 \u2013 Cruising the Yangtze <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cruise downstream on China\u2019s most picturesque river and\nrelax aboard the state-of-the-art cruise vessel. This is your time to relax and\nabsorb some of the world\u2019s most dramatic scenery \u2013 including the Three Gorges! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the next two days you can relax and enjoy the ride with\nside trips to the Goddess or Shennong Streams and several shore excursions, all\nexecuted in style by our well-trained guides. There is also evening\nentertainment and delicious meals to enjoy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 8 \u2013 Disembark in Yichang <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon arrival in Yichang you\u2019ll disembark the cruise vessel\nand visit the Three Gorges Dam, which is a manmade marvel and an impressive\nfeat of engineering. From here it\u2019s to the bullet train to travel to your next\nstop, Chengdu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 9 \u2013 Chengdu and the Pandas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No trip to China is complete without seeing the Pandas. You\u2019ll visit the world-famous Panda Reserve at Chengdu and visit the conservation centre to learn about how the Pandas are protected and cared for, along with the safe breeding programme to help keep this beautiful species going. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll see the Pandas up close in surroundings that mirror their natural habitat, and if you\u2019re lucky you might get to see them feast on their favourite treat \u2013 bamboo! After your visit you\u2019ll head to People\u2019s Park to see matchmakers\u2019 corner and then enjoy a traditional Sichuan meal for lunch, before re-boarding the bullet train to Xian. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Happy Panda in Chengdu Reserve<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Day 10 \u2013 Terracotta Warriors <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today is all about one of China\u2019s greatest mysteries, the\nTerracotta Army of China\u2019s first emperor Qin Shi Huang. Spend the morning\nwandering the excavation centre and admire the vast number of statues\nuncovered, including warriors in chariots and carved horses! You\u2019ll visit the\nworkshop of the craftsmen who re-create the warriors for tourists to take home\nand even watch the production process. You will also have the opportunity to\npurchase a warrior souvenir of your own and take pictures in the tourist area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, take a stroll on the 14th<\/sup>\nCentury City Walls that enclose Xian\u2019s old town and see how it is kept\nbeautifully preserved. After working up an appetite all day, enjoy a feast on\nTraditional Shui Jiao dumplings and watch a Tang Dynasty Show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 11 \u2013 Bullet Train to Beijing <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hop on the bullet train for a final time to head to China\u2019s symbolic capital. Enjoy a leisurely stroll to the Hutongs and visit a local family for an insight into living life in the Hutongs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 12 – The Great Wall <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quite possibly the most talked about sight in the world \u2013 the Great Wall of China. Arise early to head to the wall and walk along the incredible structure. You\u2019ll be able to experience the sheer magnificence and glory of one of the world\u2019s most beautiful wonders. As the UKs Number One China Experts, you\u2019re experience will be second to none as we benefit from priority parking and access to the wall, usually allowing time for you to stroll around for a while before the main crowds arrive.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, visit a Jade factory and enjoy the landscapes and view of the Summer Palace whilst you wander through traditional Chinese Gardens. To end the day you\u2019ll be entertained by a traditional Acrobatic show <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 13 \u2013 Explore Beijing <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 There is so much more\nto Beijing than people realise, and today is all about exploring the Imperial\nside of the city. Starting with soaking up the ambience of the Temple of Heaven\nand watching locals visit, mingle, dance and play cards in this harmonious\noasis nestled amongst city life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From here it\u2019s onto the world famous (and the symbolic heart\nof Beijing) Tiananmen Square. Then into the sprawling magnificence of the\nForbidden City, which in 2020 celebrates its 600th<\/sup> Anniversary! Walk\naround the city and explore the numerous exhibitions that will appear in\ncelebration of its anniversary, walk through the Gate of Supreme Harmony and\ntake in the magnificent imperial complex. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the evening you will experience Beijing\u2019s best-known delicacy, Peking Duck as a farewell meal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 14 \u2013 Return to UK <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depending on the time of your return flight, awake with a\nleisurely breakfast and potential time to soak up the last few moments of\nBeijing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We carefully crafted this tour, taking parts of our other tours and combining it with the delights of Chongqing and the Yangtze River. We hope to see you in 2020! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
