{"id":717,"date":"2015-04-15T09:28:48","date_gmt":"2015-04-15T08:28:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.co.uk\/blog\/?p=717"},"modified":"2016-08-18T14:35:27","modified_gmt":"2016-08-18T13:35:27","slug":"hamilton-wins-chinese-grand-prix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.co.uk\/blog\/china\/hamilton-wins-chinese-grand-prix\/","title":{"rendered":"Hamilton Wins Chinese Grand Prix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai drew to a close at the weekend, Lewis Hamilton retained his success in qualifying to see Mercedes secure another victory. <!--more-->The race was not without its controversy as Nico Rosberg, Hamilton\u2019s teammate at Mercedes, accused the race winner of attempting to back him up into Sebastian Vettel, who was chasing.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese Grand Prix would have seen F1 fans from around the world take <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.co.uk\/china\/?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=post&amp;utm_campaign=Hamilton%20Wins%20CGP\">China sports holidays<\/a> to watch the race live, leaving Britons at home having to wait until the highlights were shown on BBC 1 at 2pm on Sunday 12th April. The Formula 1 website not only hailed the Shanghai International Circuit as a race circuit for the \u2018new millennium\u2019, with \u2018stunning architecture\u2019\u00a0 and the \u2018benchmark against which all modern tracks are judged\u2019, but it also had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/content\/fom-website\/en\/championship\/races\/2015\/China\/Destination_Guide.html\" target=\"_blank\">destination guide<\/a> for those travelling to China for the race.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Enough to keep you occupied for weeks\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Formula 1 declares that \u2018Shanghai has enough to keep you occupied for weeks\u2019, something that luxury China tours can prove in abundance, with historic architecture, wildlife and culture all being highlights of such a trip.<\/p>\n<p>Complementing Shanghai\u2019s architecture is the Shanghai International Circuit, which circuit architects Hermann Tilke and Peter Wahl describe as a place where \u2018nature and technology are carefully used to create harmony between the elements\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the beauty of the circuit and the challenge it poses for drivers, it was still the site of controversy after Hamilton denied his teammate\u2019s claims. The win constituted Hamilton\u2019s second win in three races this season and saw Rosberg come second, leaving Ferrari\u2019s Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen third and fourth respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Other controversy surrounding the race included Jenson Button\u2019s collision with Pastor Maldonado, which Button described as a \u201cmisjudgement\u201d that cost him a five-second penalty and a drop to 14th place.
