In case you don\u2019t know, back in November 2019 we unveiled our long-awaited new cruise vessel \u2013 \u2018The Victoria Mekong\u2019 and celebrated its inaugural voyage along the world-famous Mekong Delta<\/a> river. We\u2019re delighted to share photos of its maiden voyage with you and give you a guided tour of what\u2019s to expect on board!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 76.8m long and 13.2m wide, this sleek river cruise vessel\nhas 35 beautiful cabins (including 2 VIP suites), an infinity pool, sun deck,\npool bar and a movie room! The Victoria Mekong offers 4- and 5-day river\ncruises along one of the most enchanting stretches of the Mekong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s start from the bottom up. On the main deck you will\nfind 18 double or twin Deluxe cabins. Each cabin is spacious with a comfy bed,\nmodern furnishings, luxurious bathroom and a private balcony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Upper Deck you\u2019ll find 14 Deluxe double or twin\ncabins and two Luxurious VIP suites. As well as an outside seating area at the\nbow of the ship, the restaurant and outside viewing area on the stern of the\nship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Claypot restaurant is a feature itself, with an\nopen-plan kitchen and giving panoramic views of the Mekong river, it\u2019s the perfect\nplace to dine. Guests can savour beautifully prepared meals, showcasing the\nflavours of the region in an enjoyable atmosphere. Breakfast, lunch and dinner\nis served here, yet all feel like different experiences. Heading up to the Sun Deck, here you\u2019ll find the gorgeous\ninfinity pool and Infinity Pool bar. You\u2019ll also find the\nlibrary, conference room, cinema room and spa towards the bow of the ship\nbehind the cockpit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main attraction on this deck is the Horizon Lounge bar,\nwhich is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the world go by.\nWith indoor and outdoor seating, its perfect for those seeking a tranquil\nmoment on board by curling up with a book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Victoria Mekong is passionate about giving back to the environment it surrounds, therefore no plastic bottles will be found on board. Guests are given reusable water bottles to use for their stay and unlimited refills. This will help reduce the use of plastic and avoid plastic pollution in the river. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, the Victoria Mekong is proud to be one of the greenest ships on the Mekong, with its waste water irrigation system cleaning the water to almost drinking level before depositing it back into the Mekong Delta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how can I get on board? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A cruise on the Victoria Mekong forms part of 4 of our award-winning\ntours across Vietnam and Cambodia. Let\u2019s tell you a little more about the\ntours: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Mekong Experience<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This fully inclusive 14-night tour starts in Saigon (known now\nas Ho Chi Min City) and takes you to the Cu Chi Tunnels before boarding the\nVictoria Mekong on day 4. From here you\u2019ll stop for lunch in Can Tho before\nboarding the ship in the late afternoon and setting sale ahead of a welcome\ndinner later that evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll cruise up the Mekong and arrive at Tiger Island for a\nshore excursion and to experience traditional industries such as net weaving,\nincense making and watching local banh in (rice cakes) be made. Dinner will be\non the ship with entertainment and then the cruise will continue to Vam Nao overnight.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience the Mekong Delta <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At Vam Nao you\u2019ll disembark the ship for land excursions\naround Tan Chau, where you\u2019ll visit Cao Dai Temple, a silk village and with the\nadditional option of visiting the submerged Tra Su Forest before heading back\nonto the ship for dinner and entertainment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then its on to Cambodia, where you will have many on board activities\nsuch as cocktail making, before docking in the late afternoon for a farewell\ndinner and Apsara performance at Sisowath Quay before spending your last night\naboard the Victoria Mekong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll meet your new Cambodian guide this morning in Phnom\nPenh and be shown the main sites of the city such as the Silver Pagoda and Wat\nPhnom and ending the day with a local beer by the riverfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore the history of Cambodia, with a visit to the Tuol\nSleng Museum and Killing Fields, before departing to take a flight to Siem Reap.\nThe next day its an early rise in Siem Reap as you travel to the world-renowned\nTemples of Angkor. Here you\u2019ll see Angkor Thom, Elephant Terrace and the\nTerrace of the Leper King before heading to Ta Prohm and the world\u2019s most magnificent\ntemple \u2013 Angkor Wat.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things don\u2019t stop there! You\u2019ll see Tonle Sap Lake and visit\nthe floating village of Kampong Phluk and experiencing a typical day in the\nlife of the local communities. Today you\u2019ll be treated to a traditional\nCambodian cooking lesson, where you will learn to prepare traditional Khmer\ndishes. A farewell dinner will see you off before the flight home the next day.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classic Mekong <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine the Mekong experience, but in reverse, with a little\nextra added on \u2013 and you\u2019ll get our award-winning tour \u2018Classic Mekong\u2019. Starting\nyour 17 day tour in Siem Reap you\u2019ll dive into the local culture and see the beautiful\ntemples of Angkor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then its onto Tonle Sap Lake for a visit to the floating\nmarket or a cruise through the water village on a traditional Cambodian boat,\nbefore flying to Phnom Penh and visiting Wat Phnom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After visiting the Tuol Sleng museum and the Killing Fields\nyou\u2019ll wave goodbye to your local guide and be picked up by a guide from the\nVictoria Mekong, who will take you to the port to board the cruise vessel to\ncruise downstream. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temples of Angkor <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll cross the boarder over to Vietnam and enjoy on board\nactivities such as cocktail making, or have the chance to relax in the pool, on\nthe sun deck or even play a round of mini golf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sail Can Tho, which is a beautifully scenic area of the Mekong\nDelta with a choice of excursions. The next day you can visit a local floating\nmarket before disembarking the Victoria Mekong and taking the shuttle bus to Saigon\n(Ho Chi Min City).               <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll discover Ho Chi Minh, including the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Reunification Palace and Central Post Office, before retiring for your last night in the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day you\u2019ll fly to Danang and continue to Hoi An.\nHere you\u2019ll have a walking tour of the town, before visiting Quan Cong Temple,\nthe Japanese Bridge and a local bustling market. After a few days of soaking up\nthe laid-back lifestyle of Hoi An, you\u2019ll fly to Hanoi where you will stop by the\nTemple of Literature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A top Wendy Wu tip is to try a traditional Egg Coffee at some point during your stay in Hanoi. You\u2019ll be given plenty of opportunity to explore the city and its delights. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This tour wouldn\u2019t be complete without a visit to the UNESCO\nWorld Heritage site Halong Bay. But at Wendy Wu Tours, we like to mix the unforgettable\nwith the extraordinary, so you\u2019ll get to spend a night on a traditionally\ndesigned boat on Halong Bay before cruising through the karst peaks and breath-taking\nscenery. Whilst cruising on the tranquil green waters, you\u2019ll enjoy a traditional\nseafood meal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mekong Explorer <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This 22-day tour you\u2019ll cover the length of Vietnam experiencing\nall the highlights. Starting in Hanoi you\u2019ll experience everything the Classic\nMekong tour has to offer, with a little bit extra! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore Hue and its imperial Citadel, including a visit to\nthe Forbidden Purple city. Cruise along the Perfume River and admire the Thien\nMu Pagoda, as well as visiting the tomb of Minh Mang, Zen house and Tha Om\nGarden House. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then it\u2019s onto Golden Bridge, one of the most iconic sights\nin the world. Located 14,000m above sea level, you\u2019ll take a cable car up to\nthis beautiful marvel to walk across and take in panoramic views. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking a more traditional feel, your next few days in Hoi An\nwill include seeing how the locals live and work and join a local family for a\ncooking demonstration and lunch. The next day is onto Saigon (Ho Chi Min City) and once\nsettled in the hotel, the rest of your day is at leisure. Head out of the city to experience the fascinating Cu Chi\nTunnels, before heading back for your last night in Saigon. The next day it\u2019s\nall aboard the Victoria Mekong to travel upstream on the River of Nine Dragons.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll experience all the excursions listed on the other\ntours above as you cruise in complete luxury aboard the Victoria Mekong as you\nsail upstream on the Victoria Mekong and cross over into Cambodia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
