On arrival into Beijing, be met by your local guide and transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay. This evening, dine on succulent Peking Duck, a favourite of the Qing emperors. Return to your hotel. (D)
This morning, rise early and head out to China's most iconic sight, the Great Wall of China. Learn about this magnificent structure before enjoying some time to walk on it. The part you explore is 700 years old! Next, visit a Jade Museum where you will learn about one of China’s most symbolic and important materials. After lunch, return to Beijing and a take a stroll through the grounds of the Summer Palace, holiday home of the Qing emperors. Enjoy spectacular views of Kunming Lake which sits perfectly next to Longevity Hill. Return to your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure. (B,L)
