Fly overnight to Delhi, India’s rambunctious
capital city. Depending on your time of arrival,
the rest of the day is yours to start soaking up
the local culture.
Starting in Old Delhi, embark on a rickshaw
ride through the atmospheric streets, visiting
Jama Masjid. Venture into a local market to
learn about the local herbs and spices. Cross
into New Delhi to view the colonial grandeur
of the Rajpath, including the Rashtrapati
Bhavan and Qutub Minar, finishing the day at
Journey by road to Jaipur, the ‘Pink City’.
Enjoy an early morning yoga session. Head
just out of the city to the colossal Amber Fort,
stopping en route to admire the exquisite
façade of Hawa Mahal, or ‘Palace of the
Winds’. The Amber Fort is built of yellow
and pink sandstone and white marble, and
its opulent halls are full of intricate carvings
and stained glass. This afternoon, explore
the City Palace, part of which is still home to
Jaipur’s royal family, and visit a block printing
Travel by road to Ranthambore, the best place
in India to see tigers! The park is also home
to leopards, hyena and bears, and you’ll have
two canter safaris, in the early morning and
afternoon, to spot them.
Head to Agra. Explore the magnificent Agra
Fort before enjoying some free time to relax
at the hotel. This evening, return to the fort
to marvel at the Agra Fort Sound and Light
Rise early to see the sun rise over one of the
world’s most perfect buildings. At dawn the
Taj Mahal is swathed in mist and tinged pink
by the rising sun – an unforgettable sight.
Get some insight into how the beauty of the
Taj Mahal was achieved at a marble inlay
workshop before transferring to Delhi.
Transfer to the airport and fly to the ancient
city of Varanasi. After settling into the hotel,
take a rickshaw to the famous ghats and
witness the atmospheric puja ceremony of
Rise early to cruise on the Ganges and watch
the ghats come to life as the sun rises. Take
a city tour before visiting Sarnath, where
Buddha is said to have delivered his first
sermon. Later visit a silk weaver to learn
about the craft.
Today will be a long drive from Varanasi to
India’s border with Nepal. After completing
the border formalities continue on to Lumbini.
Take a rickshaw tour of this Buddhist
pilgrimage site, passing numerous stupas,
monasteries and temples as you go. Visit
Maya Devi Temple, the exact spot where
Siddhartha Gautama, better known as
Buddha, was born and enjoy the tranquility of
the Monastery of World Peace.
Drive to Chitwan National Park. On arrival,
check into your jungle lodge and spend the
rest of the day taking park in park activities.
Spend the day at Chitwan taking part in
activities such as jeep safaris, canoe rides,
village walks and jungle walks.
Drive from Chitwan to Bandipur, a typical
Newari mountain town – untouched by
modernisation, it is full of old houses and
temples from the medieval era.
Rise early to hike up Gurungche Hill for
glorious sunrise views of the surrounding
landscapes. Depart for the lakeside town
of Pokhara, with its majestic views of the
Annapurna and Manaslu ranges.
Drive to Khade Khola from where you’ll head
out on foot into the beautiful landscapes. Hike
up to a local village where you’ll meet the
friendly villagers and visit the local school and

vibrant capital city, Kathmandu. On arrival,
the rest of the day is free to spend as you

atmospheric medieval city. Visit the home of
a Newari family before wandering to Durbar
Square to admire the beautiful architecture.
Finally, head to Potters’ Square to visit a
ceramics workshop to learn traditional pottery
skills from a master potter.

Tipping is an expected element in the tourism industry today and Bhutan is no exception. We have established a tipping system whereby every passenger gives a set amount to the National Escort who will distribute the amount appropriately. On multi-country tips, this amount will be paid in stages on arrival in each country. If there is no National Escort, you will need to give your money to your Local Guides and tipping amounts for each city will be shown in your final itinerary. The amount is calculated for each tour. We will indicate the tipping amounts in your final documents for guidance.
Shopping can be a fun and entertaining component to any travel adventure. In keeping with most people’s interests whilst on holiday, your tour will include a reasonable number of opportunities to shop for local goods and souvenirs. We have included visits to establishments that not only provide an opportunity to purchase a locally produced, but you’ll witness first-hand how these local products are made, their history and how they support the economy. We are aware that people like to take home souvenirs, so we ensure the shops you visit have a reputation for quality, honesty, and authenticity.
The cost of all meals is included in your group tour cost. Breakfast is served in the hotel and usually includes western dishes. We aim to cater to the tastes of the majority of people and so the food is not too spicy or unusual in taste. Any food/diet requests MUST be specified at the time of booking and you should mention it again to the National Escort/ Local Guides when you meet them – they will do their utmost to cater for any special requests, such as vegetarian meals or food to be avoided in case of allergies.
