This was our first tour and we were extremely impressed by the organisation and the standards. The size of our group (19) was not overwhelming and allowed us to get to know our fellow travellers well. Our guide Jason was absolutely outstanding at his job. He was caring and knowledgeable with a good sense of humour, which added to the experience.

Fantastic tour. We loved every minute of it. Our tour guide Amanda was out of this world. Beautiful places to see and wonderful food. Made welcome every we went.
My only complaint was the river cruise boat. The rooms snd bedding got very damp. So must so a lot of us ending up with coughs. I had to go yo my GP when I got home. Chest infection.
Saying that, it will not stop my going on another trip again

Our 28 day trip to China with Wendy Wu was outstanding in always. The content of the itinerary was very well put together, although full on everyday we did have plenty of time to relax and enjoyed very scenic train journeys. The organisation pre and during was excellent in addition our national guide who was with us throughout is an exceptional person who looked after us in every way, Maya is a huge asset to the Wendy Wu team and was a major factor in the success of our trip.
The tour itself covered many many national attractions, parks and monuments with cultural add ons, in addition we attended several evening shows which were spectacular, colourful and thrilling. The hotels and food included were all very good, well placed hotels, very clean, big bedrooms with perfect bathrooms, excellent quality linen and towels. The “Chinese Banquets” we received most days offered a huge verity of tasty dishes and good selection of vegetables, gluten free options were available although Shanghai was difficult.
China felt very safe and our travelling throughout saw no problems, our coach drivers were friendly and excellent, driving safely in a very busy country.
We would certainly recommend Wend Wu and hope to travel with them again soon.

Fantastic holiday to China that rocked all the boxes and more. Would recommend this holiday if you really want to see China, and all its sights from walls to Pandas and temples to rivers, this trip has it all.

Hectic but we covered so much it was fantastic, the local guides were very knowledgeable and our trip guide took great care of us.

I had a brilliant escorted tour of Taiwan with Wendy Wu. I was travelling with a great group of people (a friendly and lively mix of Brits and Aussies). The tour itself was exciting and led by Cathy, who was very knowledgeable, but didn't always tell us everything we needed to know. My only gripe is that the time we had available when visiting some of the nature parks and other places of interest was a bit limited and we could have done with longer.
This was my first trip with Wendy Wu, but it certainly won't be my last!

Great itinerary. The guide, Ken, was excellent. He keeps his cool, explains things well, has excellent English, understands British and Australian sense of humour irony and jargon. In short he is a Gem.

We had an amazing trip thanks to the wonderful organisational skills of our National guide Jerry. Everything ran like clockwork. The local guides were also fantastic. We saw everything on the itinerary and more. Wonderful cities, scenery, bullet trains and boat trip, not to forget the Pandas. Was surprised at first to go to a zoo to see them but after watching Ben Fogle in Chengdu realise that had we gone there we may not have seen any at all! Would highly recommend Wendy Wu for an escorted trip.

Having experienced previous world travel including organised group tours we found this Wendy Wu tour to be not one of the best. We knew that the group size would be up to 28 (and indeed it was 28) however although people were always on time this number of tourists inevitably resulted in slower execution of every aspect of the tour from train travel, air travel, dinning, general touring, getting from a to b etc and we would never consider joining a group of this size again. Some of our group found the tour pace to be well above the 'level one' as described in the brochure.
We liked all the hotels, the arrangements themselves dovetailed seamlessly, we were never hungry, our national guide Nancy was helpful and professional, the afterhours experiences were all worthwhile, China itself was clean, efficient , people welcoming and we always felt safe as a tourist , we enjoyed the yangtze cruise, the li river cruise and Guilin.
We didn't enjoy having a full day touring/travelling then going for dinner and/or a show without having the opportunity to shower and change. This happened several times and did impact negatively on our enjoyment. The worst example was arriving in Shanghai by flight, then being taken straight for dinner, which was very rushed before being taken to the ERA show and then taken to the hotel to book in. This distracted from the experience. The food itself although plentiful varied in quality, some restaurants served rice midway through the meal, provided soup at the end, didn't have cold beer or wine by the glass, wasted so much food (although the most popular dished ran out) and we were forced to eat extremely early (lunch at 11.30 dinner at 5.30 on some occasions). We were bussed to some restaurants when there were closer walkable alternatives. Our local guide in Bejing (Arthur) although enthusiastic was confusing, difficult to understand and annoying at times. Local Guides in Xian and Guilin were knowledgeable and professional.
We felt the tour concentrated too long a time upon 'shopping experiences' the Jade factory, the Xian art ceramics and lacquer exhibition workshop, the silk factory, Xintiandi and to a lesser extent the calligraphy and tea planation rather than the wonderful sights China has to offer. (We spent significantly more time at the Xian art workshop (excluding the unorganised buffet lunch) than at the Terracotta warriors themselves.
Overall we enjoyed our return to China however the tour would have been much better if our above mentioned critiques could have been addressed from the perspective of the traveller prior to tour departure.

Never having done a guided trip before we were a bit cautious but decided that to get the most out of this epic trip we would bite the bullet. There were 26 of us 13 Brits and 13 Aussies. Plus our glorious leader and guide Yama . In two weeks we experienced every facet of Japanese life and history. Temples, Tea Ceremony, Snow Monkeys, Mount Fuji, Hiroshima, Sumo Wrestling,Wasabi-Miso-Washi Paper production. All were sampled and some made too. We travelled by coach,bullet train, boat, cable car and on foot. The whole experience was overwhelmingly awesome. From 3-4 hundred year old houses/temples to the modern day skyscrapers of Tokyo we devoured it all. Most of us were 60+ but we all made the grade with people able to bail out if they felt it would be too hard. Friendships were formed and memories we will treasure for ever. Accommodations and meals were superb. Can't recommend this trip enough. And especially our guide.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, and our group of 19 were lead by Jackie with great efficiency.
The local guides were excellent and provided us with historical and local information in great detail and, in most cases, humour.
Our accommodation throughout the tour was very good although we did have a few technical issues in Tibet. Lhasa Snow Paradise Hotel had recently been refurbished and has installed high tech systems in the rooms, including a toilet which automatically lifts the lid and self flushes, if it works properly that is! We had to get assistance twice during our stay. Also the lights, curtains and tv were voice activated through a smart speaker but only accepted Chinese commands.
We treated the Yangtze River cruise as a respite from the travel schedule and were pleased that we upgraded our on board package. It came at a good time in the tour. The à la cart menu was a change from the lazy Susan meals we had been given on a daily basis, although the quality of those meals were always first class.
If we were to advise people about this tour, we would certainly recommend it, but we would say to go to Beijing a day earlier than when it starts as you do hit the road running on day one!
We saw all the sights, had a proper introduction to China and its’ people and cultures and our group were a great bunch of people. All in all a great experience and there wasn’t a single hitch in the travel arrangements and accommodation.
