Did you hear Wendy on the radio?
Following the fantastic response to her first appearance earlier this year, Wendy was recently invited back to join Oliver Callan live on RTÉ Radio 1 for another lively conversation about the destinations capturing travellers’ imaginations right now.
From the enduring appeal of China and Japan to Mongolia, Bhutan and the emerging destinations of Central Asia, Wendy shared her thoughts on where travellers are heading, why we’re becoming more adventurous and some of the incredible experiences waiting to be discovered. She also revealed some of the exciting new sides of China attracting attention — including futuristic Chongqing and the spectacular landscapes that inspired Avatar.
And it certainly got listeners talking! Questions came flooding into the studio, giving Wendy the chance to share advice on everything from exploring the Silk Road and reaching Mongolia to planning the perfect family adventure in China. From her pioneering early days in China to what makes a truly immersive holiday, Wendy also discusses the rise of Cruise & Tour, why combining in-depth touring with time at sea offers travellers the best of both worlds, and what the future could hold for Wendy Wu Tours.
And, as the name of the podcast suggests, expect plenty of Wendy’s trademark honesty and personality along the way!

Dinner with Geoff
All the way back in Covid times, Wendy envisioned a tea party, that would bring customers together during a period where no one could travel. One particular customer, Geoff Kennedy, was so touched by the thought that he invited everyone, including Wendy, to dinner. In the years since Geoff continued to come to our customer shows to meet up with fellow travellers and, on seeing Wendy again, invited Wendy to dinner again. Wendy, naturally, was desperate to take him up on his offer, but with getting the business back on its feet, she was too busy…until now.
In September, Wendy travelled up to Rugby with her boys Alex and Warren to have dinner with Geoff and his wife. A lovely time was had by all, and we imagine Wendy managed to get Geoff booked on a few tours over dessert!

Also last month, we welcomed some very special guests to Wendy Wu HQ, twins Ross and Aaron. A reward to themselves for graduating from uni, Ross and Aaron took their very first trip aboard with us, travelling to China, and had an incredible time. After spending some time with the team in the office, Wendy’s twins Alex and Warren took Ross and Aaron for lunch in The Shard and to see a few of London’s top sights.
