Let’s Go to Hokkaido!

One of our wonderful product executives, Alexia, has just returned from exploring Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island – a trip perfectly timed with the launch of our new tour ‘Northern Japan: Secrets of Hokkaido’.

Alexia said, “At the end of March, I spent two sunny days exploring Sapporo on foot, soaking up the city’s relaxed atmosphere and late-winter charm. Between wandering its streets, visiting the iconic Sapporo Beer Museum, exploring the famous Ganso Sapporo Ramen Street (better known as ‘Ramen Alley’), and discovering Hokkaido’s elite dairy production through exceptional milk soft serve, the city offered plenty to savour. Foodie highlights included rich miso butter corn ramen and indulgent Hokkaido king crab ramen, making Sapporo a memorable stop defined by comfort food, regional flavour, and authentic local experiences.”

Designed for those who’d love to return to Japan after exploring the ‘main’ highlights, or for those looking to discover more of Japan’s spectacular nature, this tour for just 18 people features scenic walks, national parks, dairy farms, frontier heritage, bear spotting and indigenous Ainu culture.

We asked our Japan product manager Sky the reasoning behind creating this tour and she said,
“Hokkaido completely captured my imagination – from its dramatic mountains and brown bears to its rich Ainu heritage, vast lakes and beautiful national parks. I wanted to create a tour that invites travellers to explore this wonderfully untouched side of Japan at a slower pace, with immersive experiences and incredible scenery throughout.”
