Meet the Mbororé Aldea tribe, an indigenous community from the depths of the rainforest, for a fascinating insight into a unique culture, learning all about their lifestyle, ancestry, folklore and their knowledge of their jungle home.
Experience the rhythm at the very heart of Rio's day to day life, with a visit to one of the many atmospheric samba bars, where you can either sit back and enjoy watching the action, or get out on the dancefloor for a whirl yourself.
Visit a traditional Argentinian estancia (ranch) for a lesson in local folklore, including the history of the legendary gauchos, before enjoying a typical asado lunch, deliciously cooked on an outdoor parrilla (grill).
Fly to Argentina’s flamboyant capital city, Buenos Aires. The Paris of Latin America, Buenos Aires is a romantic and lively city. The culture here is extremely diverse and the asado (barbecue) restaurants are second to none. The rest of the day is to spend at leisure.
After breakfast, enjoy the irresistible combination of Latin flair and European elegance in a Buenos Aires city tour. Visit the vibrant districts of La Boca, San Telmo, Puerto Madero, Palermo and Recoleta. This evening participate in a quintessential Argentinian tango class before sitting down for dinner and a sultry tango show.
Enjoy a day trip to Uruguay, visiting the picture-perfect colonial town of Colonia. The beautiful Barrio Historico, which occupies a small peninsula that juts out into the river, is a maze of old cobbled streets that are a delight to wander. Admire the main square, see the ruins of San Francisco Church and visit the lighthouse amongst much more.
Travel approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by road to just outside the city. Spend the day on the vast, fertile grasslands known as the pampas, on a traditional estancia (ranch). Here you’ll get some insight into the life of the folk heroes, the gaucho, and after a typical Argentinian asado lunch, there will be a fun folklore show.
Say farewell to Buenos Aires to board your plane over to Puerto Iguazu, the town closest to the incredible wonder that is Iguazu Falls. The falls spans the border of Argentina and Brazil and features hundreds of rushing cascades, set in a lush rainforest scene.
Today you will experience the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls, with a highlight being the Ecological Jungle Train to the Garganta del Diablo observation point. Here you will have wonderful views of the falls. In the afternoon you will visit the indigenous community of the Mbororé Aldea, where you will learn about this ancient tribe's way of life.
Wander along the boardwalks and pathways of the Brazilian side of the falls this morning, followed by your flight to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s ‘Cidade Maravilhosa'. Perhaps head to the world-famous Copacabana or Ipanema beaches for sunset.
Travel by jeep to some of Rio's most iconic sites. Ascend the magnificent Mount Corcovado, passing through the lush greenery of Tijuca Forest as you make your way to the magnificent Christ the Redeemer. Explore the 19th-century bohemian hillside neighbourhood of Santa Teresa, before stopping for lunch in a local Brazilian BBQ restaurant. You have the afternoon at leisure before cheese and wine tasting this evening.
