Guayaquil, known as the ‘Pacific Pearl’, is Ecuador’s main port city and a gateway to the famous Galapagos Islands.

Founded in 1538, this coastal town is known for its rich culture, architecture, and growing economy.

One of the main attractions that fringes the coast of this city is the Malecon, a boardwalk overlooking the Guayas river. Given its tropical climate, street activities are a big part of everyday life and the streets are always buzzing with people.

Guayaquil is also known for having the most flavourful gastronomy of the coastal region and seafood is one of the main delicacies of the region.
