Why Take A Mekong River Cruise?

Are you thinking of travelling to South East Asia, maybe planning tours to Vietnam and Cambodia? Then we strongly recommend that your itinerary includes a cruise along the Mekong River. The Mekong links both these fascinating countries and is an integral part of their respective economies and cultures. In Vietnam the Mekong is so central to local life that it is referred to as simply, ‘the river’.

Because the Mekong is so key to appreciating Vietnam and Cambodia, you’ll want to make sure you see the river at its unspoilt and beautiful best. Fortunately, our brand-new vessel, Victoria Mekong, offers just such an itinerary, whether you cruise upstream from Can Tho or downstream from Phnom Penh. Best of all, our river cruises can be combined with four fabulous tours designed to show you all the key sights right across both countries. If Cambodia’s magical Temples of Angkor or Vietnam’s ravishingly beautiful Halong Bay have been on your ‘to do’ list for a while, then we have just the tour for you!

River Cruising Aboard Victoria Mekong

Throughout 2020 and into 2021, Victoria Mekong offers 4 and 5 day river cruises to hand-picked ports along one of the most enchanting stretches of the Mekong. This magical section of the river delivers wonders at every turn, from the slow-running stream south of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) where the delta meets the incoming waters of the South China Sea, up to Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh.

Discover The Mekong In Style

Victoria Mekong is a state-of-the-art vessel boasting four-star comfort and superior service. She employs cutting-edge technology and her eco-credentials are impeccable – by the time her recycled water is returned to the Mekong River it is already drinkable! Elsewhere, solar energy is harnessed to help power the ship’s systems, whilst a high-tech, super-quiet power plant gives her a cruising speed of 6 knots and a brisk top speed of 11 knots.

But, with so much to see along this vibrant stretch of the Mekong, speed is seldom of the essence. More important, perhaps, is her shallow draught that allows her to cruise the parts of the Mekong Delta that other vessels simply cannot reach! With just 35 passenger cabins including two, two room suites, passengers are guaranteed a genuine ‘small ship’ experience. All cabins have a private balcony and individually controlled air conditioning.

On-board you'll find an infinity pool, jacuzzis, a spa, gym, movie room, games room, a boutique and even mini golf! The Horizon Lounge Bar and the Infinity Pool Bar offer a ‘free-flow’ of local beers and soft drinks to passengers whilst hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages are also complimentary as, indeed, is house wine at dinner. When you reach port our shore excursions put you right into the heart of local life and there are plenty of opportunities to interact with local people and appreciate the fascinating culture that surrounds you.
