DAYS 1-2 FLY TO HANOI
Fly overnight to Hanoi, Vietnam's elegant
capital city. Depending on your time of arrival,
the rest of the day is yours to start soaking up
the local culture.
DAY 3 HALONG BAY
Transfer to Halong City, climb aboard your ship and cruise out into the spectacular
Halong Bay. You'll spend the day sailing amongst the karst peaks on the tranquil green waters. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and a vision of awe-inspiring beauty, it isn't hard to see why it is one of Vietnam’s most popular destinations. Spend the night on board.
DAY 4 HANOI
Spend the morning sailing through Halong Bay. After an early brunch meal, disembark your cruise and transfer back to Hanoi to visit the Museum of Ethnology before enjoying a water puppet show. Continue to experience an exhilarating cyclo ride through Hanoi's Old Quarter. Each cyclo takes one passenger and is operated by a cycle driver behind the carriage. Tonight, enjoy a local dinner with a cooking demonstration of the Hanoi speciality, Bun Thang.
DAY 5 TRAVEL TO HUE
Discover the rest of the sights of Hanoi today, starting with a stop at a local coffee shop. Take a walk in Ba Dinh Square, followed by the Ho Chi Minh Quarter and Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum. Next, visit the Humble House on Stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda before driving to the serene Temple of Literature, Hanoi's first university. Following lunch at a local restaurant, transfer to the airport and fly to Hue, Vietnam's imperial capital.
DAY 6 PERFUME RIVER
This morning visit the imposing Imperial
Citadel and Forbidden Purple City at the heart
of Hue, once the home of Vietnam’s emperors.
Cruise on the picturesque Perfume River
and admire the Thien Mu Pagoda. Later, see
the magnificent tomb of Minh Mang before

DAY 7 DRIVE TO HOI AN
Leave Hue for Hoi An, taking a scenic route
over the Hai Van Pass. This afternoon, take
a walking tour of this charming town. A
wonderfully laidback place, the streets are a
delight to wander – visit the Japanese Bridge,
the colourful market and Chinese temple.
Stop en route to visit Reaching Out, a social
enterprise craft workshop, and watch the
artisans at work.
DAY 8 TRA QUE VILLAGE
Head out into Hoi An's verdant surroundings
to Tra Que, where you’ll see the local farmers
at work, tending lush gardens of vegetables
and herbs. Join a local family for lunch and a
cooking demonstration. Back in Hoi An, the
rest of the day is free.
DAY 9 TRAVEL TO NHA TRANG
Transfer to Danang and fly to the sunny city of
Nha Trang, Vietnam’s beach capital. The rest
of the day is free.
DAY 10 COASTAL CRUISE
Take to the turquoise waters for a cruise
around the many little islands off Nha Trang’s
coast. There’ll be a stop at an island to enjoy
the balmy waters for yourself, and a visit to a
fishing village. Head up into the cooler climes
of the South Central Highlands to the lovely
town of Dalat.
DAY 11 EXPLORE DALAT
Spend today sightseeing with visits to the
Domaine de Marie Church, the Flower
Gardens and an embroidery workshop. Climb
aboard an open-air steam train from the old
railway station to journey out through the
fantastic scenery to Trai Mat village. This
afternoon browse the stalls of Dalat’s busy
market, ending the day with a cup of locally
grown coffee as you take in the picturesque
DAY 12 TRAVEL TO SAIGON
Journey across the scenic highlands to Saigon
with a stop en route at the Bao Loc tea
plantation. On arrival, the rest of the day is
DAY 13 CU CHI TUNNELS
Head out of the city to the fascinating Cu
Chi Tunnels, a network of underground
passageways used by the Viet Cong during
the war. Return to Saigon and spend the
afternoon discovering the city’s sights. See

DAY 14 MEKONG DELTA
Journey to Ben Tre to cruise on the mighty
Mekong. This area is called the ‘Rice Basket
of Vietnam’, the rich and fertile lands
producing a plethora of rice, coconuts,
vegetables and tropical fruits. Here you’ll
paddle through the maze of palm-lined canals,
taste local produce, visit a local family, lunch
on typical Mekong dishes and enjoy traditional
music. Return to Saigon and enjoy a farewell

UK citizens will not need a visa to enter Vietnam for a single entry stay of up to 15 days. Entry visas for Vietnam are required for stays longer than 15 days or for multiple entries into Vietnam within a 30 day period. To allow for unforeseen circumstances if your tour includes a stay of 15 days or more in Vietnam the standard visa processing service is included in your tour cost. Currently the visa exemption rule applies until 30th June 2017. Tipping is an expected element in the tourism industry today and Vietnam is no exception. We have established a tipping system whereby every passenger gives a set amount to the National Escort who will distribute the amount appropriately. On multi-country tips, this amount will be paid in stages on arrival in each country. If there is no National Escort, you will need to give your money to your Local Guides and tipping amounts for each city will be shown in your final itinerary. The amount is calculated for each tour. The cost of all meals is included in your group tour cost. Breakfast is served in the hotel and usually includes western dishes. We aim to cater to the tastes of the majority of people and so the food is not too spicy or unusual in taste.
