Fly overnight to Saigon, Vietnam’s
most evocative and largest city.
Depending on your time of arrival
the rest of the day is yours to
start soaking up the local culture.
Contemplate the horrors of
guerrilla warfare at the astonishing
Cu Chi Tunnels before returning
to Saigon. Seamlessly blending
past and present, Saigon is
the city that is driving Vietnam
towards a brighter future. See Notre Dame Cathedral and visit the Central Post Office, both legacies of a colonial past. Spend time at
the Reunification Palace and the
chilling War Remnants Museum.
Pop down to Ben Tre to take a
cruise through the Mekong Delta.
This area is known as the ‘Rice
Basket of Vietnam’ – paddle
through the maze of palm-lined
canals and enjoy a typically
Mekong lunch. Travel to Can Tho
for an overnight stay.
Visit the Cai Rang floating market
to see the goods on sale and
learn how vermicelli rice noodles
are made. Return to Saigon.
Head up into the cooler climes
and wonderful scenery of the
highlands to the colonial town
of Dalat, stopping at Bao Loc
tea plantation en route. This
afternoon is free to enjoy
locally grown coffee and the

highlands and along the coast
to Nha Trang, Vietnam’s beach
capital. Take to the turquoise
waters for a cruise around the
bay’s many islands with a stop
off at one to enjoy a swim in the
Wander Dam market before
visiting the Po Nagar Cham
Towers and continue on to the
city of Qui Nhon.
The Son My area saw one of
the most horrific crimes of
the Vietnam War – the My Lai
massacre. Visit the memorial
placed in honour of the victims.
Continue to Hoi An.
Take a morning walking tour of
charming Hoi An – a wonderfully
laidback and wilfully traditional
town that has managed to retain
the charms of a bygone era.
Visit a lovely old-style house,
the Japanese Bridge, a Chinese
temple and the market. Stop en
route to visit Reaching Out, a
social enterprise craft workshop,
and watch the artisans at work.
Take the scenic route to Hue over
the Hai Van Pass. The epitome of
Vietnam’s dynastic past, Hue is a
dignified and scholarly city. Visit
the Royal Tomb of Minh Mang.
Take a drive to the imposing Imperial
Citadel to explore. Cruise along the
Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda
before heading for An Hien House.
Exuding a wonderfully exotic
aura, Hanoi is the perfect
combination of old Asia and new.
Admire the collections of the Fine
Arts Museum and take a cyclo
through the atmospheric tangle
of streets that make up the Old
Quarter. Later enjoy a Vietnamese
coffee at a café overlooking Hoan
Kiem Lake. In the evening watch
a performance of the famous

Entry visas for Vietnam are required for stays longer than 15 days or for multiple entries into Vietnam within a 30 day period. To allow for unforeseen circumstances if your tour includes a stay of 15 days or more in Vietnam the standard visa processing service is included in your tour cost. Currently the visa exemption rule applies until 30th June 2018. Tipping is an expected element in the tourism industry today and Bhutan is no exception. We have established a tipping system whereby every passenger gives a set amount to the National Escort who will distribute the amount appropriately. On multi-country tips, this amount will be paid in stages on arrival in each country. If there is no National Escort, you will need to give your money to your Local Guides and tipping amounts for each city will be shown in your final itinerary. The amount is calculated for each tour. We will indicate the tipping amounts in your final documents for guidance.
Shopping can be a fun and entertaining component to any travel adventure. In keeping with most people’s interests whilst on holiday, your tour will include a reasonable number of opportunities to shop for local goods and souvenirs. We have included visits to establishments that not only provide an opportunity to purchase a locally produced, but you’ll witness first-hand how these local products are made, their history and how they support the economy. We are aware that people like to take home souvenirs, so we ensure the shops you visit have a reputation for quality, honesty, and authenticity.
The cost of all meals is included in your group tour cost. Breakfast is served in the hotel and usually includes western dishes. We aim to cater to the tastes of the majority of people and so the food is not too spicy or unusual in taste. Any food/diet requests MUST be specified at the time of booking and you should mention it again to the National Escort/ Local Guides when you meet them – they will do their utmost to cater for any special requests, such as vegetarian meals or food to be avoided in case of allergies.
