Tour Itinerary

This tour is suitable for those who have a short amount of time and are interested in visiting the northeast region of India on a boat up the Brahmaputra River. This tour is a private tour yet you will travel with other people on your river cruise ship.

  • Days 1-2

    Fly to Kolkata

    Days 1-2 Fly to Kolkata

    Fly overnight to Kolkata, formerly Calcutta, on the east bank of the Hooghly River.

  • Day 3

    Fly to Guwahati

    Day 3: Fly to Guwahati

    Fly to Guwahati and visit Kamakhya Temple, devoted to the goddess of desire, before boarding your Pandaw vessel. (B,D)

  • Day 4

    Sailing towards Silghat

    Day 4: Sailing towards Silghat

    Enjoy the stunning natural scenery and wildlife of the Brahmaputra River. Observe river dolphins and birds of prey as we pass uninhabited islands and the fragile communities that live here. Later enjoy a talk on the Brahmaputra and the tribal life that exists alongside it. (B,L,D)

    Day 5: Silghat

    Pass attractive Tezpur arriving at Silghat where we take an excursion through stunning countryside to a tea estate and factory producing the famous Assam tea. (B,L,D)

  • Day 6

    Kaziranga National Park

    Day 6: Kaziranga National Park

    Visit UNESCO accredited Kaziranga National Park for an elephant safari searching for the elusive Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros and Bengal Tiger. Continue to Bagori and further explore the wildlife of the park by jeep. Travel to Biswanath Ghat to explore the charming village. (B,L,D)

    River Safari

    Day 7: River Safari

    Take a boat safari on the Eastern range of Kaziranga where River Dhansiri and River Brahmaputra meet. Here, observe wildlife at its most natural including pied kingfishers, eagles, vultures, water buffaloes, monitor lizards and otters. Dinner is al fresco on a deserted island. (B,L,D)

    Mishing people

    Day 8: Mishing people

    Visit a local village of the Mishing people, where women weave on hand-looms to create characterful costumes. (B,L,D)

  • Day 9

    Majuli and Sibsagar

    Day 9: Majuli and Sibsagar

    Explore the impressive Satras of Majuli before continuing to Sibsagar to visit the Shiva Dol, built in 1734, the highest Shiva temple in India. (B,L,D)

  • Day 10

    Fly to Kolkata

    Day 10: Fly to Kolkata

    Disembark after breakfast and transfer to Jorhat airport for your flight to Kolkata. (B)

    Fly Kolkata to UK
