Fly overnight to Delhi, India’s
rambunctious capital city.
Depending on your time of
arrival the rest of the day is
yours to start soaking up the
Explore Old Delhi with a walk through Chandni Chowk Bazaar to Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, then take a Rickshaw ride to Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market. After lunch, view India Gate and Parliament House before exploring Gandhi Smriti and Qutab Minar.
Transfer to the airport and fly to
the ancient city of Varanasi. Head
just out of town to the fascinating
Buddhist site of Sarnath, where
Buddha is said to have delivered
his first sermon. The next day,
rise early to cruise on the Ganges
and watch the ghats come to life
as the sun rises. Explore the city
with your guide and later hop on
a rickshaw to the ghats as well as
witnessing the puja ceremony of
Transfer to the airport to fly to
Khajuraho. This afternoon tour
both the western and eastern
groups of the Khajuraho temples,
known for their intricately carved,
erotic imagery and celestial
beauties. This evening enjoy a
cultural dance display.
Travel to the 16th-century city
of Orchha and then on to Jhansi
where you’ll board a Shatabdi
Express train to Agra.
Rise early to see the sun rise
over one of the world’s most
perfect buildings. At dawn the
Taj Mahal is swathed in mist and
tinged pink by the rising sun – a
magical experience. Stop at a
traditional marble workshop. This
afternoon visit the hulking mass
of Agra Fort, established in the
Drive to Ranthambore National
Park, home to many animals such
as leopards, hyena, bears and
most importantly, tigers. Stop
on the way at the ghost city of
Fatehpur Sikri. The next day enjoy
both an early morning and an
afternoon canter safari.
Journey to the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur
for a two night stay.
Begin the day with a brief stop
at the Hawa Mahal, the ‘Palace
of the Winds’, before travelling
out of the city to admire the
majestic Amber Fort. Back in
Jaipur visit the Maharaja’s City
Palace and Jantar Mantar, the
largest stone and marble crafted
observatory in the world. Later
browse the local bazaar at Choti
Choper before a traditional
dinner and a dance performance.
Travel to Pushkar. Sat on the
banks of one of India’s most
sacred lakes, there are 52 ghats
used for worship by Hindu
pilgrims. This afternoon visit the
lake and the Brahma Temple
before a camel cart ride to witness
the sunset in the desert. The
next day continue on to Khimsar,
perched on the edge on the
great Thar Desert in the heart of
rural India. Spend the afternoon
exploring the local area.
Rising like a mirage from the
sandy plains of the Thar Desert,
Jaisalmer is known as the ‘Golden
City’. Head to Sunset Point to
enjoy the views. The next day
spend some time amongst the
magnificence of Jaisalmer’s 12th century
fort, one of the largest
forts in the world. Later, travel
to the Sam Sand Dunes where
you can ride a camel through the
desert and view the sunset.
Drive to Jodhpur. Take a
tour of the city, exploring the
magnificence and splendour of
Mehrangarh Fort, visiting the
museum of Umaid Bhawan
Palace and browsing through the
local vegetable and spice market.
The next day jump into a jeep
and drive through the desert to
Rohetgarh to meet the people of
the Bishnoi Tribe.
Drive to Udaipur via the Jain
temple complex of Ranakpur.
Arrive in Udaipur and take a
cruise on the shimmering waters
of Lake Pichola, passing the
magical Lake Palace. The next
day explore the city, starting with
a drive around Fateh Sagar Lake
with stops at the Folk Museum,
Mewar Art Gallery and Sahelion
Ki Bari Garden. Later visit the
ornate City Palace and take a
stroll through the local market.
Board a morning flight to
Mumbai connecting on to a
flight to Aurangabad.
Visit the incredible UNESCO
World Heritage-listed Ajanta
Caves and explore some of the
30 caves full of beautiful murals
of Buddha’s life. The next day
visit the UNESCO Ellora Caves,
where you’ll find even more
exquisite carvings of Buddhist,
Hindu and Jain imagery. Fly
Take a tour of cosmopolitan
Mumbai, India’s economic
powerhouse. View the Gateway to
India, dawdle along Marine Drive
and visit Chowpatty Beach, Mani
Bhavan, Dhobi Ghat, Crawford
Market and Flora Fountain. Fly to
the relaxed Keralan city of Kochi.
Kochi is strung across the islands
and peninsulas of the Malabar
coast and is a fascinating city.
Visit the Dutch Palace and Fort
Kochi before seeing the famous
Chinese fishing nets and strolling
through the colourful markets.
This evening enjoy an exuberant
Kathakali dance performance.
Pay a visit to Kochi’s synagogue
before heading out of the city
to Nedumudy to board your
houseboat. On this converted
rice barge, or ‘kettuvallam’, you
can drift along the lush canals,
streams and lakes that make up
Kerala’s backwaters. Lunch and
dinner is served onboard and
you will stay overnight on the boat too.
Enjoy breakfast as you cruise into
Alleppey and disembark. Travel to
the famous Keralan beach resort
Spend the day exploring Kerala’s
capital Trivandrum, with visits to
Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple,
the Zoological Gardens, Sri Chitra
Art Gallery, the Observatory and
Kanakakunnu Palace. Return to
Kovalam to stay overnight.
Fly to the UK, arriving home the
same or following day.

A visa is required by all nationalities. A single entry visa should be arranged in advance of travel. Unlike many other tour operators, we include your entry visas in the price of our tour. We handle the entire visa process – all you need to do is fill out the form and send your passport to us. We are always on hand to help you with any questions or queries you might have when completing the form.
The cost of all meals is included in your group tour cost. Breakfast is served in the hotel and usually includes western dishes. We aim to cater to the tastes of the majority of people and so the food is not too spicy or unusual in taste. Any food/diet requests MUST be specified at the time of booking and you should mention it again to the National Escort/ Local Guides when you meet them – they will do their utmost to cater for any special requests, such as vegetarian meals or food to be avoided in case of allergies.
Tipping is an expected element in the tourism industry today and India is no exception. We have established a tipping system whereby every passenger gives a set amount to the National Escort who will distribute the amount appropriately. On multi-country tips, this amount will be paid in stages on arrival in each country. If there is no National Escort, you will need to give your money to your Local Guides and tipping amounts for each city will be shown in your final itinerary. The amount is calculated for each tour. We will indicate the tipping amounts in your final documents for guidance.
