Food and hotels were excellent. Lemon and mint drink is most refreshing and a date smoothie is delicious. Scenery and experiences outstanding. People most hospitable - English widely and spoken and to a very high standard. Go before tourism changes the experience.

Our Tour: Excellent

All the people we met were very friendly, great variety of landscapes. Some of the meals took a long time which made some of the days very long, not arriving at the hotel till after 9.00. The food in general was too much.

The holiday attempted to cram too much into too short a time frame. Often, we were travelling in the dark after nightfall, so couldn't see the scenery, and arrived at our hotel very late, going straight in to dinner (sometimes at about 10. p.m.) with no chance to change, or wash and brush up. Then off again first thing in the morning. I didn't manage to get a good night's 8 hour sleep the whole time I was there.

On the plus side, the second part of the holiday had some impressive sights - the Nabatean tombs, the rock art, and old Jeddah - and at least Wendy Wu got me to Saudi Arabia - other tour companies have failed - so I fulfilled a long ambition.
