"We are never satisfied until you come back and travel with us again" - Wendy Wu, Founder & Chairwoman

At Wendy Wu Tours, we want to know what you think about the service you receive when you book with us and what you thought about your tour itself. It's this vital information that helps us to improve in the future.

With this in mind, we have teamed up with independent review company feefo. Once you have made a booking or returned from one of our tours, you'll receive an email from feefo asking you to rate your experience with us.

We then display these reviews right here, completely untouched by us, so you can trust them 100%.

We were humbled to receive so much positive feedback from clients affected by the onset of the Coronavirus crisis. We hope the positive experience of customers, who still managed to enjoy their tours even as the pandemic hit, shows how wonderful your experience will be once we all get travelling again.

We also have more fantastic reviews from around the globe on TripAdvisor, including many 5 star!

Kruger to Cape Explored

Kruger to Cape Explored
We arrived in Johannesburg and our first taste of South Africa was to experience a power cut at the airport. We were met and greeted by our Tour Guide, Nabeel Daniels who turned out to be an excellent tour guide. He is a credit to Wendy Wu.
We travelled onwards to the Kruger National Park having stopped at the Davinci Hotel and Angels View Hotel along the route. Nabeel stopped at various sites where we could take photos of the landscape and visit some interesting tourist stops such as The Apartheid Museum, God’s Window, Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes, The Three Rondels and the Graskop Goerge Lift. Whilst travelling we had lunch and had the chance to enjoy a taste of the local cuisine.
We arrived at the Shiduli Private Game Reserve mid-afternoon, and after checking into our rooms we met our game tour guide and driver. We set of on our first drive into the park and were immediately seeing some of the “big five” Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and supplied our group with plenty of information. This was to be the same for all our other drives into the game reserve. This stay was one of the main highlights of the entire holiday. On our departure all the staff gathered in the restaurant area and sang a traditional South African song as we departed.
We then travelled back to Johannesburg Airport to catch an internal flight to Port Elizabeth where we would continue on our tour. The following day we travelled to Knysa stopping on the way to visit Oudebosch Protea Farm where we had the chance to see the process of growing the Protea flower. Our next stop was the Tsitsikamma National Forest. We climbed up ino the forst and down into the Storms River Mouth where we crossed a few suspension bridges and returned back to starting point of the walk.
We continued on to Kynsa and after checking in at our hotel in Knysa we had some free time to explore this picturesque harbour before being taken to really good fish restaurant situated in the harbour. The following morning we crossed the lagoon over to the Featherbed Eco Experience by ferry, where we were taken by tractor to the top of the Western Head. We then descended by foot following the paths back to the visitor centre getting the chance to take in the picturesque scenery of the lagoon and cliffs. We had a superb lunch before we returned by ferry to continue our journey to Oudtshoorn.
The following morning we visited the Cango Caves where we were taken on a guided tour of the cave system. Our next stop was an Ostrich Farm where we given a tour of the farm on a trailer and given the opportunity to feed the Ostrich. They certainly like their food. We travelled on to Cape Town after enjoying lunch.
Cape Town was a mixture of old and new building. We started off with a tour of the city and then we had a guided walk of part of the city. Table Mountain was on our agenda for the day but the cable car was closed due to poor weather so we were taken on a scenic tour of the area. The next day we visited two vineyards where we had the opportunity to sample a selection of their local wines followed by lunch providing views across the valley.
The next day we went on a cruise to see the local seal colony. Afterwards we went on to Boulders Beach where we visited the local African Penguins colony followed by lunch. Our surprise for the afternoon was that Table Mountain was now open and we were able to go to the top of Table Mountain by cable car. Stunning views of Cape Town. Our final outing was to The Gold Restaurant to experience an authentic African Experience where everyone was encouraged to take part in the evenings entertainment The food was a 14 course dish taste of South Africa.
The final day in Cape Town before our flight home was a leisure day where we just ambled around the Water Front Area.

Was it value for money? Yes, it was a busy holiday and certainly value for money.
Highlights? A hard question as it was all stunning. But the main two were The Kruger Private Game Reserve and Table Top mountain.
Tour Guide Quality? Nabeel Daniels was outstanding. We have done several tours over the years with various companies and he was by far the best. He was always doing his best to make sure that we got the most from this holiday and that we enjoyed it..
Drivers. We had two drivers both were very good, Robert drove in the north and Reg drove in the south. Again both were a credit to Wendy Wu.

Very good meeting at the WW Roadshow event. We discussed plenty of options for our trip and were so impressed we decided to make the booking at the Roadshow.

The booking process was thorough and comprehensive. My questions were answered without me feeling I was a nuisance. This is my 3rd booking with Wendy Wu so I was lucky enough to get a loyalty discount too.

Very interesting and well thought tours - the small group all inclusive tour to South Africa is particularly appealing. Very simple to book.

Service rating :

Don't subcontract the leadership of the tours. The tour guide was not familiar with the details of the tour and did not seem to have even visited some of the places. He also totally lacked communication skills.

Quality of food and hotels was variable and the organisation and sequencing of some of the excursions was poorly thought out, resulting in unnecessary travelling.

Product :

See above. I have also made the same comments in the tour company's own customer feedback form.

An excellent selection of the highlights of South Africa covering both political and wildlife experiences. The hotels were well selected and the quality was outstanding. Guides and drivers were well informed and exceptionally helpful.

Product :

Quite expensive, but, taking into account the quality of the Hotels and Food, well worth the cost

Excellent tour with a very knowledgable and personable guide.
Booking via website was impossible as couldn't get discount for a second Wendy Wu tour, so had to phone.
Misleading e-mails regarding the need for tips to be paid to guide, which had to be sorted by phone when paying balance.

Product :

Great tour that covered all the key aspects of South Africa, with a great guide (Garth Johnson).
Only down side was great hotels but in areas outside of towns, which was understandable in some cases but not all, and didn't give you time to explore on your own. This also applied to the very short stops in many places en-route.

Everywhere we were put up in excellent hotels. We were blessed with a brilliant, thoughtful tour guide, who made the whole experience wonderful. All our needs were taken care of. Fantastic, beautiful places, wonderful food. I am a vegetarian, our guide made sure every hotel and restaurant was informed special dietary needs, I had one of the best vegetarian meals on this tour.

Product :

We had a fabulous time, truly a dream come true!

We thought this tour was an amazing experience. All the hotels were very good, three being excellent. There were 3 cooked meals a day, either buffet or choices and they were always plentiful and mostly good quality. The tour guides were very helpful and informative especially our guide from Johannesburg to Durban. The tours themselves were great and there was an interesting variety of trips. We were lucky enough to see the Big 5 and many more animals in the safari parks which for us was the highlight of the trip. Interacting with the animals in Tenikwa and the Elephant sanctuary was magic and wandering through the Birds of Eden gave us a better idea of the bird species that are around. the safari parks whi too.

Product :

Excellent, as this was the first tour that was to South Africa we did expect the odd hiccup and the only problem we incurred was there was no information when we arrived at our first hotel in Johannesburg and again after the flight to Port Elizabeth. It would have been good to just have something on a notice board or a letter to tell us when the meal in the evening was and when we were going to be picked up the following day. This was the only fault in the holiday the rest was excellent.

Good tour overall but too much emphasis on getting to food venues. In fact for me just too much food Wd have preferred more sight seeing and less eating
