The tour was jam packed of activities!
Jason was such an awesome guide who made our tour experience top notch. When issues arose he dealt with them promptly. The pandas were a personal highlight. Would definitely recommend. Good value for money!

1) As an independent traveller this type of tour is not for me. I found it very rigid and at the attractions that you wanted to stay longer you had to leave and for the ones you wished to leave you had to remain. It was all a little bit like a school trip.
2) Too much time was spent on a coach to visit attractions that were not really worth it.
3) A 23 person group was too big and we forever seemed to be waiting ages for people returning from the toilet.
4) Having lunches at a government sanctioned gift shop is not what I hoped to experience on this trip.
5) Driving one hour to a restaurant and then another hour for the meal took too much out of the day.
6) Some of the hotels were dire. China has moved on a lot in the last ten years so we should not have to stay in hotels that are selling at £25 a night. Especially when you can see European hotel chains out of your window.
7) It must be said that the Wendy Wu guides were good and arranged buses, airport pick-ups, trains, access to attractions with no issues. The government guides were much more variable, and as expected followed the government script.
8) Food was generally poor and we had been warned that this may be the case but we should not really be seeing the exact same evening meal out in the breakfast room the following day.
