Well looked after by the crew, modern and up to date boat, food of a high quality , with plenty of choice

Where do you start with a review of a 21 day holiday? Overall, it was good, but there are things to be aware of when booking.
Wendy Wu is positioned as at the higher end of group tours in Asia but some of the hotels were below the standard I would have expected. For instance, the Lotus Blanc rooms in Siem Reap were damp, mosquito infested and the aircon control unit didn't work. In addition, room service although offered, was non existent. Other hotels were ok, but not really of a high standard.
Food was included for all meals but the timings were sometimes odd. For example, in Haling bay, we had breakfast at 7, went on a quick excursion and then had a full brunch offered at 9.30 - just so that we could get to an airport transfer. It would have been better to have been given a voucher for food and drink at the airport. Another example was the house vitit in Hue with a "snack" that turned out to be a fantastic meal, only to be immediately followed by lunch. Often, late lunches were followed by early dinners which seemed a little unreasonable. Also in regard to food, the constant set menus got so samey and boring, we opted to miss a few. A little creativity around the set menus would have made the food a much more interesting part of the tour. I have a lot more to say but have limited space :-(

We spent 4 Nights on the Mekong Victoria and it was fabulous. Everything from the decor, to the food and the wonderful staff was 5*. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vietnam and/or Cambodia. It is the best way to travel between the two countries and an experience not to be missed.

Our 4 days on board were just fantastic. Staff could not be more helpful. We were made to feel so special.

Housekeeping staff kept our cabin so clean and tidy.

Meals were great and allergy issue was taken care of with special care.

Off ship excursions were well run and just long enough to allow us time to enjoy the onboard life as well.

Would do it again in a heartbeat.

During touring Vietnam & Cambodia we did a cruise on the Mekong explorer this was in the middle of the tour and was a great relaxing experience in the middle of a hectic tour which we would recommend and always remember

Only the trips let it down. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.

Extremely well organised with excellent personable guides who helped make the experience memorable.

Having been on 3 previous WW tours( although 1 was cut short at the very beginning) we had some high expectations.
The flights from UK to destination and the return were excellent as we flew with Emirates.
The internal flights were obviously very different as they were run by local Airlines,so you have to expect something much less comfortable.
However,the journey's were short so this was not a real problem.
Meeting our first guide was typical of previous tours as he was humourous, friendly and very welcoming.
As a group towards the end of the tour, we felt it would have been helpful to have the same National guide all the way through.
This may not have been possible as we had crossed the border to a separate country where the language was different and the culture different.
As in previous tours the schedule is very busy ,but we knew it would be.
We were not expecting the heat and humidity that we encountered but both guides were constantly advising us to drink plenty of water and this was provided as a constant on all coach travel.
Hotels ranged from modern to some dated in there accommodation so this may be something to look at.
Hotel staff always very attentive and nothing too much trouble.
I'm sure that as a very reputable company you always do regular checks.
We would certainly recommend this tour to others and we will definitely be looking at others .

Excellent tour, great guides, mainly good meals but two restaurants in particular very poor service and food not too good. Had a problem with our Vietnam visa - Wendy Wu made us travel a day early but didn’t apply for the appropriate visa for us, we had a problem then and had to pay a significant amount more which we weren’t expecting..
