This was a very memorable holiday in so many ways, encompassing a huge variety of exciting sights, sounds and experiences. Particularly enjoyable were the visits to the various souks, the tannery, the cookery class, the tile-making factory, and the night in the desert.
There were a couple of downsides which need to be mentioned to give a full picture. On account of the flight schedule of Royal Air Maroc we arrived at our hotel in Rabat extremely late on the first night, which meant we were very tired on our first day of sightseeing. Apparently some of our party were given the option to fly out the day before, so they could have a day at leisure before starting the tour. We were not given that option for some reason.
As it is such a big country there were several days which involved anywhere from 3 to 7 hours just travelling in the minibus, which was not especially enjoyable. On the first occasion we crossed the Atlas mountains, the weather was unexpectedly cold, which made for a pretty unpleasant journey. On other occasions it was uncomfortably hot in the minibus, whose air conditioning system was not particularly effective.
The biggest negative, however, related to the food. It was an all-inclusive holiday which in theory is a good thing. In practice it made for a really monotonous eating experience, and one which caused a good deal of anxiety for me as my dairy intolerance was not particularly well catered-for. Many, many times the menu was exactly the same, be it lunch or dinner: soup or salad for starter, chicken tagine for main, cream caramel or fruit for dessert. Once or twice this would have been fine, but by the end of the holiday I never wanted to see another chicken tagine again! The evening meals were often served very late (8pm or later) and the service was very slow. But the worst thing about it was that several of the travellers, myself included, suffered from gastric issues (explosive diarrhoea) during the tour, which clearly took the shine off the experience. In my case the problem lasted for over a week. On my return to the UK I consulted my GP who took a stool sample and confirmed a CAMPYLOBACTER infection - a notifiable disease. In other words, food poisoning. This has been slow to clear up and has unfortunately left me reluctant to go on an all-inclusive holiday again. My husband has also suffered digestive issues, although his system has blocked up, rather than the opposite problem. On balance, these issues ruined what would otherwise have been a splendid holiday.

Great tour and great guide - Essaid Motamid

We saw so many different places in Morocco, from the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert, I really feel I have experienced most of the Country. It would be good to have a bit more choice of the included food, but there was a lot to eat!

We have been impressed with trips to Japan and to China. The guides have been superb and all the arrangements went without problems.

I had a fantastic time on this tour. We saw a great deal of Morocco and I've left feeling like I've seen and done everything there is to offer. There was a great mix of inner cities, desert, and coastal towns, and some of the scenery whilst driving was spectacular. A big thank you to our guide Brahim who was kind, welcoming, and happy to answer all of our questions. The food was great and some of the dining settings were simply superb! I found the locals to be very welcoming and felt perfectly comfortable shopping in the souks alone during spare time. Thank you for a fabulous trip!

The trip was very enjoyable in many ways and covered most of the important sites in Morocco, although I personally would have preferred a little more time in the archaeological sites and would have benefited from visiting an archaeological museum in Rabat. The main problem was that almost every member of our group fell ill with a stomach complaint at some point or other, despite taking precautions such as not drinking the water or using it for teeth cleaning, not eating salads and trying to eat only cooked food. Having said this, the buffet food that we were offered was often only lukewarm and therefore may have been a source of diarrhea-inducing bugs. Since we had been told not to eat salad, it seemed perverse that we were often offered salad as a first course for any of our included meals. The penultimate hotel in Essaouira was not up to standard and we were grateful that the company moved us to somewhere better, but unfortunately as this was done at the last minute we were lodged a long way outside the resort. The bus driver was excellent; our guide was very good and taught us a great deal about Moroccan culture. The only problem was that his English was not always accurate or even comprehensible, although this didn't matter to me and my friend as we speak French.
Most members of the group enjoyed themselves and the many experiences the trip offered, but thought that this trip, only in its second year, could benefit from some refinement and the health problems we had really detracted from our enjoyment.

Poor organisation during the tour. Itinerary not adhered to. No hot water in one hotel. Guide was clearly inexperienced and untrained.

A full very enjoyable tour with a great guide, coach driver and fellow travellers. As said, the guide was wonderful! His knowledge of the country and people, added to first-rate ability to guide a group around some very busy areas, coupled with a good sense of humour ensured a memorable and enjoyable trip.

Excellent service, couldn't fault it. Liz has been a great help with all my questions and has always come back quickly.
