With a name meaning ‘big water’ in the indigenous Guarani language, Iguacu (or Iguazu in Brazil) certainly doesn’t disappoint! Stretching nearly three kilometres across, the Rio Iguacu thunders off of the Parana plateau in style, splitting into 100s of spectacular cascades. Part of the border between Brazil and Argentina, the falls can be viewed from both sides, each offering a different magnificent perspective. Iguacu is completely surrounded by lush, wildlife-filled rainforest – walking through it, the sound of the falls roaring in your ears, is an experience we cannot recommend enough!
