With a wealth of museums and plentiful heritage, Vancouver is also a great place to connect with Canada’s indigenous culture – the totem poles nestled among the trees of Stanley Park are a great place to start - while the historic neighbourhood of Gastown, with its cobbled streets, vintage lamp posts, Victorian buildings and famous Steam Clock, offers a glimpse of the foundations of the city itself.

You don’t have to venture far from downtown to experience British Colombia’s supernatural nature. Aside from the dense forest of Stanley Park and the nearby mountains, you only need to venture out onto the Strait of Georgia to find some of Vancouver’s biggest and cutest residents. Otters, seals, eagles, porpoises and pods of orca live here year-round while grey and humpback whales pass through regularly on migratory routes. Add all this to a mild climate and it’s easy to see why Vancouver is often lauded as one of the most liveable cities in the world.
