We are delighted by the news that the Japanese government has dropped the requirement for a visa to Japan for UK passport holders traveling on or after 11th Oct 22.

If you are due to travel on one of our tours to Japan after this date, you no longer need to complete a visa application. Please do NOT send us your passport.

The below information is only for those customers travelling before 11th Oct 2022:

We hope that you are looking forward to your trip to Japan with us!

It is now time to apply for your visa. Wendy Wu Tours have partnered with a visa agency called DJB Visas, who will assist in processing your visa application.

Please make sure you read this guide in full before completing your application. Below this information you can find a step-by-step guide on how to complete your application form.

  • You need to complete your visa application form and sign it.
  • You will need to post it along with your passport to DJB Visas via Royal Mail Special Delivery.
  • DJB Visas will process your visa at the Japanese embassy in London and post your passport back to you with the visa enclosed.
  • Wendy Wu Tours will be liaising closely with DJB Visas behind the scenes and will cover the cost of the visa on your behalf

Since your balance has now been paid and your tour is confirmed to depart, we recommend you start your visa application process straight away.

Current processing times are approximately 2-3 weeks, however this is dependent on the Japanese embassy's availability and workflow so please apply as soon as you can.

The requirements for British Citizen passport holders are as follows:

  • Original valid passportYour passport needs to have at least 2 blank pages for the visa.
  • One completed and signed visa application form Click on the link and complete the application form here:- (opens in a new window)

    Please print single sided.
  • One passport-sized photograph The photo MUST be taken within the last 6 months and it must be glued and NOT stapled to the application form. This must be a professional colour photo or taken in a photo booth.
  • ERFS Invitation LetterYou may also read or be advised that you need a Certificate for Completion of Registration issued by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. This certificate has already been obtained for you by Wendy Wu Tours and these will be submitted for you as part of your application.

Our processing service is only included for UK British Citizen passport holders. If you hold any other British passport (British Subject, British National Overseas) or you are a non-UK passport holder or you reside outside of the UK, you may be required to obtain your own visas at your own expense. Please contact us for more information.

Please post your completed and signed application form, along with your passport to DJB Visas. We strongly recommend that passports are posted using the Royal Mail Special Delivery service and we accept no responsibility for passports lost in the post.

Once your visa has been processed, your passports will be posted back to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery to your home address that you have listed on your visa application form.

Wendy Wu Tours and DJB Visas cannot guarantee that you will be issued a visa for your holiday as each passenger has different personal circumstances. The decision to approve a visa is down to the relevant Embassy. Wendy Wu Tours and DJB Visas act as a third party with no influence on the visa decision.

On rare occasions, the Embassy has the right to request the applicant to provide additional supporting documents or to come to the Embassy for an interview. In this instance, we will notify you immediately.

Once your completed visa has been received, it is your responsibility to check all details are correct. Wendy Wu Tours or DJB Visas will not be held accountable for any denied boarding or denied at immigration.

How to complete your Japan Visa Application Form

  1. Surname: Please enter your surname as per passport IN CAPITALS
  2. Given and middle names: Names must be as per passport
  3. Date of birth:Use format DD/MM/YYYY ie 15/04/1970
  4. Place of birth: Provide the town/city, followed by the county, followed by the country
  5. Sex and Marital status: Put an X in the relevant box. If you are completing the form online, click on the box to insert the X
  6. Nationality: Enter your nationality. If you are completing the form online, select your nationality, for example UNITED KINGDOM from the drop-down list
  7. ID issued to you by your government: Enter N/A
  8. Passport type: X in the relevant box. If you are completing the form online, click on the box to insert the X
  9. Passport number: Please copy this carefully from the identification page of your passport
  10. Place of issue: Enter UK
  11. Date of issue and date of expiry Your passport issue and expiry dates can be found on the identification page of your passport
  12. Issuing authority This can be found on the identification page of your passport ie HMPO, UKPA, IPS, FCO
  13. Purpose of visit to Japan: Please enter ‘Tourist’
  14. Intended length of stay in Japan Please refer to your booking confirmation and confirm how many days you will be in Japan
  15. Date of arrival in JapanPlease refer to your booking confirmation
  16. Port of entry in Japan Please enter the city where you are arriving into Japan, for example Tokyo Narita Airport
  17. Name of ship or airlinePlease enter your flight number. This is on your booking confirmation and if you are travelling to Japan on an indirect flight, will be the flight that takes you from your transit point to Japan.
  18. Name and address of hotel

    You need to provide details of the first hotel you are staying at on your Japan tour. The hotel address varies according to what tour you have booked on.

    For tour name Japan Uncovered, the details are as follows:

When you have completed and signed your form, you must attach a passport photo. The photo should be glued to the form and NOT stapled.

The photograph should be in colour and meet the following requirements:

  • Taken in the last six months
  • Clear and of good quality, taken against a plain light background
  • Un-mounted, 45 mm x 35 mm in size
  • Showing your full face (without glasses, sunglasses and without a hat or cap)
  • Taken in a professional photo booth and not printed at home
  • Double-check that your application form is completed clearly and in full
  • Make sure that your passport photopage contains your signature (newer passports need to be physically signed)
  • Make sure you have signed your application form
  • Make sure you have attached a passport photo
  • Make sure you have enclosed the Wendy Wu Tours Consent Form (ensuring this is at the front of all your documentation).
  • One valid passport per person
  • One completed application form with a photo per person
  • One completed consent form per booking (this is to be used as a cover letter).
