  • Day 1
    Travel to Puerto Maldonado
    Day 1: Travel to Puerto Maldonado

    Fly to Puerto Maldonado where you’ll be met at the airport. Take a short drive before hopping in a boat to travel along the amazon jungle fringed river to your rainforest lodge accommodation. Enjoy the spectacular views of the river and surrounding rainforest this afternoon as you scale a canopy tower, all the whilst keeping an eye out for toucans, parrots and macaws. (L,D)

    Amazon Adventure
    Day 2: Amazon Adventure

    Take a boat to Lake Tres Chimbadas, a small lake with a big wildlife scene! Here you’ll embark on a canoe trip along its shores, spotting the local otters and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch before an afternoon ethnobotanical tour, where a local expert will teach you all about the forest plant life and medicinal properties. After dinner you have the option to take a twilight walk in search of nocturnal animals. (B,L,D)

  • Day 3
    Clay Lick
    Day 3: Clay Lick

    A short hike will bring you to a ‘collpa’, a wall of clay that is used by parrots and macaws. Early in the morning, hundreds of birds flock to the clay lick to eat, creating a wonderful natural spectacle. Next, a naturalist guide will lead you on an easy hike through the forest. After lunch you will head downriver to visit a fascinating farm in the community of Infierno. (B,L,D)

  • Day 4
    Depart Puerto Maldonado
    Day 4: Depart Puerto Maldonado

    Depart the rainforest lodge and return to Puerto Maldonado by boat. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
