In March of every year, for approximately two weeks, the streets across South Korea sparkle various shades of pink as cherry trees bloom in abundance. Marking the arrival of spring, the ‘beot-kkot’ season or the more popular Japanese term of ‘hanami’ (viewing the cherry blossoms) commences and involves festival like celebrations with families and friends coming together to view and celebrate under the trees. The Cherry Blossom is a symbol of renewal and hope, inspiring intentions and wishes for the future.
