In traditional Chinese medicine, wellbeing begins with balancing your qi – your vital life force. For centuries, ancient practices designed to restore harmony and vitality have continued to thrive.

Step inside a world few Western travellers have experienced, journeying to Chongqing, China's emerging wellness destination, where ancient healing traditions, expert masters and centuries-old wisdom offer a rare opportunity to restore balance, reconnect with yourself and discover a deeper sense of wellbeing.

Over seven immersive days, be guided by renowned practitioners through the healing arts of qigong (mindful movement), reflexology, pulse diagnosis and acupoint massage. Experience a personal Reiki attunement with renowned Reiki Master Peter Hui, uncover the unique wellness traditions of the Miao people and immerse yourself in the natural harmony of Jiuli City, where mountains, forests and hot springs have inspired generations of healing practices.

Beyond your wellness journey, discover the extraordinary contrasts of Chongqing – the City of Longevity – where ancient teahouses meet futuristic skylines, tranquil hot springs sit alongside high-speed rail and timeless traditions exist alongside modern innovation. World Class Reiki Master - Peter Hui

World Class Reiki Master - Peter Hui

Peter Hui first encountered Reiki in the 1990s and was initially sceptical of its healing effects. However, after witnessing profound changes in those around him, he dedicated decades to studying and practising Reiki alongside his wife, Mandy, eventually becoming a certified Reiki Master.

He believes in Reiki’s ripple effect: supporting one person’s wellbeing and empowering them to share this gentle energy practice with others. Inspired by remarkable cases at St Vincent’s Hospital, where patients experienced positive changes after being told conventional treatment options were limited, Peter has combined his Reiki practice with charitable work to support patient care and wellbeing.

You will lie down comfortably while fully clothed, and many guests describe feeling deeply relaxed, warm or peaceful during the session. Reiki is commonly used as a complementary wellness practice to support relaxation and emotional wellbeing. Afterwards, many people feel calmer, lighter or more refreshed. We recommend drinking plenty of water, resting if possible and avoiding strenuous activity immediately after your session.
