Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) is a vast cave system found among the spectacular nature of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wulingyuan area of Zhangjiajie. Stretching 7.5 kilometres and explored on foot and on a boat along one of the underground waterways, within you’ll find a subterranean world of huge, interconnected caverns, spanning four levels and featuring waterfalls, rivers, pools, an underground lake and many, many limestone formations. All beautifully and colourfully illuminated, exploring the caves is an adventure – keep an eye out for the ‘Sea-Stabilizing needle’ the cave system’s tallest stalagmite at an impressive 19 metres.
