The capital of Georgia and one of the world's oldest settlements dating back to 4000BC, with characteristics and charm from the Old Town and many more modern additions, make for a picturesque and colourful town, overlooked by the Narikala Fortress.

As an old Silk Road hub, one can expect to find mosques and synagogues, churches and ruins while wandering the narrow lanes lined with cafés and bars. Don’t miss being at The Leaning Tower of Tbilisi on the hour, where an angel appears from the door, to strike the bell every hour. With thermal waters bubbling below Tbilisi the thermal baths are a sought-after experience. Soak in a hot bath, enjoy a scrub and massage before an ice-cold rinse off.

Well known for its cuisine, a delicious traditional dish to try is khachapuri, made from bread covered in butter and filled with cheese and egg yolk. Wine is an essential part of Georgia's identity, and the city offers many opportunities for tastings at small, independent wineries.
