Safaris in Maasai Mara & Serengeti

Embark on safaris in two of the world’s most sensational national parks – Maasai Mara and Serengeti. Each offers incredible wildlife encounters and rolling grasslands, the Maasai Mara more compact and accessible, the Serengeti vast with a remote feel.

Ngorongoro Crater

UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the densest populations of wildlife on the planet, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is set in a crater of the same name. There is no better place to catch all the drama of the natural world, unfolding in a landscape of steep walls, grassy plains and swamps.

    Day 1: Fly to Nairobi

    Fly to Nairobi, capital and beating heart of Kenya. On arrival you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel.

    Travel to Amboseli
    Day 2: Travel to Amboseli

    After breakfast journey to Amboseli National Park. This afternoon, embark on a game drive to explore the park’s vast plains and abundant wildlife, including vast herds of elephants, all under the watchful gaze of the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to camp as the sun sets. (B,L,D)

    Amboseli National Park
    Day 3: Amboseli National Park

    Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and then head out to experience the captivating beauty of Amboseli National Park. Amboseli provides an incredible opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat, often with the majestic backdrop of Africa’s tallest peak. The park’s diverse ecosystems, including swamps, grasslands, and forests, make it a photographer’s paradise, offering unparalleled opportunities for close-up encounters with a range of animals and birds.     Arusha
    Day 4: Arusha

    After an early breakfast depart for Arusha, crossing the border into Tanzania. You have the afternoon to relax and enjoy at leisure. (B,L)

    Visit Tribal Communities
    Day 5: Visit Tribal Communities

    Drive through sensational Rift Valley landscapes towards Lake Eyasi. Today you will visit two tribal villages. The first is of the Hadzabe people, a hunter-gatherer tribe. Join them on a guided walk through the bush to witness hunting techniques and forage for berries. Continue to a Datoga village and meet the skilled blacksmiths who craft jewellery and arrowheads used by hunters. (B,L,D)

    Safari in Ngorongoro
    Day 6: Safari in Ngorongoro

    Today you will travel to the iconic Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Descend into the crater for a game drive in a setting that brings incredible natural drama, the steep walls keeping predator and prey together on the open grasslands. Leaving the crater behind, travel on to the Serengeti. (B,L,D)

    Explore the Serengeti
    Day 7: Explore the Serengeti

    Prepare for a day full of adventure in one of the world’s greatest wildlife-watching destinations. Take a thrilling game drive deep into the national park in search of rich wildlife. Pause for a picnic lunch in incredible surroundings before continuing into more remote areas, always on the lookout for lions, giraffes, cheetah, leopards, elephants and many, many more. (B,L.D)

    Journey to the Maasai Mara
    Day 8: Journey to the Maasai Mara

    After breakfast continue your journey by crossing back into Kenya, watching the scenery unfold before you, as you travel into the country’s wilderness. The landscape transitions as you leave the Serengeti behind, shifting to the lush green vistas of Kenya. (B,L,D)

    Maasai Mara
    Day 9: Maasai Mara

    Today, you’ll spend a full day out in the reserve, enjoying game drives and a visit to a Maasai tribe. Met by the chief, you will tour the village and learn about day-to-day life. (B,L,D)

    Great Rift valley
    Day 10: Great Rift valley

    Enjoy breakfast, followed by a morning game drive in the Maasai Mara, and then depart for the Great Rift Valley. Experience a leisurely and scenic drive as you pass through the small Maasai Towns. Kenya’s Great Rift Valley offers some of the country’s most stunning scenery. Surrounded by dramatic escarpments and acacia forests, Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake teeming with birdlife, hippos, and other wildlife. The region also features nearby attractions such as Crescent Island for walking safaris. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing, taking in the scenery of the valley and preparing for your adventures at Lake Naivasha. (B,L,D)

    Lake Naivasha
    Day 11: Lake Naivasha

    Start your day with breakfast before heading to Lake Naivasha, a stunning freshwater lake located in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. Take a boat ride across the lake, with the opportunity to spot hippos and a variety of exotic birds. Visit Crescent Island, a peaceful wildlife sanctuary only accessible by boat, and embark on a walking safari to view antelopes, fish eagles, hippos and monkeys. Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park for an afternoon game drive. A bird lover’s paradise with over 400 species of birds, and an exceptional game destination with endangered rhinos and Rothchild’s giraffe, you are in for a thrilling adventure. (B,L,D)

    Travel to Nairobi
    Day 12: Travel to Nairobi

    Enjoy breakfast and then depart for Nairobi. Along the way, enjoy the captivating views of Kenya’s beautiful landscapes. On arrival in Nairobi, you will visit the the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a renowned sanctuary committed to the protection of orphaned elephants, you have a unique opportunity to observe these majestic animals. Continue to the Giraffe Centre, a sanctuary dedicated to the conservation of the endangered Rothschild giraffes. Set in the heart of the Ngong Hills, the centre not only offers a chance to see these graceful creatures up close but also educates visitors about their vital conservation efforts in Kenya. You will also visit the Karen Blixen Museum, nestled on the historic estate of the renowned Danish author of Out of Africa. Afterward, head to your hotel, settle in, and enjoy the evening at leisure.
