Sun Moon Lake Holidays

Sun Moon Lake is one of Taiwan’s most popular scenic spots. Named for its shape – the east side is round, like the sun, and the west side is long and narrow like the crescent moon, this alpine lake is at the heart of tribal lands and has many legends woven through its landscapes.

Set among a serene scene of forested mountains, its clear, green waters often reflect its surroundings, adding another dimension to its magic. On the lake’s shores are ornate pagodas, temples and pavilions, best admired from a boat on the clam waters. Visit in spring for the additional beauty of blooming cherry blossoms.
