Spanning a nature-filled canyon in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, was considered the tallest and longest glass bridge in the world when it was opened in 2016. Glass bottomed and transparent (the glass is triple layered and tempered!), this futuristic looking suspension bridge stretches 430 metres long and sits 300 metres above the canyon’s floor.
A walk across the glass bridge puts you in the very centre of Zhangjiajie’s glorious nature, with lush forest, blue-hued streams and waterfalls below, and forest-swathed cliffs and mountains all around you, it gives a magical, new perspective. For daredevils, you can jump off the bridge on one of the world’s highest commercial bungee jumps too!
