Elephant Orphanage

Celebrating 25 Years of tour excellence

Sri Lanka's Elephant Transit Home is the place to visit whether you’re a big elephant fan or not! The centre cares for sick and injured elephants, or those that have been orphaned, and rehabilitates them to a point where they can be released back into the wild – usually the Udawalawe National Park down the road. Most of the individuals here are playful and rowdy youngsters, so watching the resident elephants at their four times daily feeding time is a lot of fun!
