Home to the legendary Genghis Khan, the vast wilderness and endless blue skies of Mongolia have long captured the imagination of travellers. Only recently re-emerged on the world stage after almost a century of isolation, this country of unique, rugged and pristine great outdoors is becoming the place to be!
Whilst the capital city Ulaanbaatar may be flying headlong into the future, the endless, majestic emptiness of the steppes and deserts that make up Mongolia’s hinterland are still very much the territory of the planet’s last true nomads.
Mongolia Holidays give you the opportunity to visit a yurt camp and experience their fabled hospitality, explore the Jurassic past of the Gobi Desert, witness the feats and pageantry of the Naadam Festival and find peace beside the sparkling blue of Lake Khovsgol – Mongolia is waiting to be discovered!
Terelj National Park
Terelj National Park is rich with towering mountains and forest covered slopes. Deep within this park, along the Tuul River, stands the striking statue of world-famous conqueror Genghis Khan. Nearby, you will come across the beautiful Aryabal Temple, a building filled to the brim with colourful murals and Buddhist teachings. We love how, in certain parts of Mongolia, you feel completely removed from the outside world and deeply connected to nature, so we have included premium ger camps with stargazing facilities on our ‘Best of Mongolia’ adventure to ensure you really experience the national park at its best.
Gobi Desert
The Gobi is a vast desert-scape filled with roaming camels, towering dunes and icy canyons and you'll explore it on an exciting four-wheel drive expedition, heading deep into its stark beauty. Discover the spectacular Yol Valley, full of dramatic gorges that shape the atmospheric landscape, and the sand dunes of Khongoryn Els. The towering 300 metre high dunes are called the "singing sands", due to the whistling sound that the wind makes when it blows across the grains. Here you can meet nomadic camel herding families and learn about life in the desert.
Flaming Cliffs of Bayanzag
The Flaming Cliffs of Bayanzag are best known for being the place that the first dinosaur eggs were discovered and it has also yielded a series of other important fossil finds over the years. At this historic site, you can follow in the footsteps of pioneering paleontologists and imagine what it was like when they made these groundbreaking discoveries. The Flaming Cliffs themselves are a marvel in their own right, especially when the cliffs’ sandstone glows a deep, vibrant red at sunset, making them the perfect destination to pause after a day of exploring.
Orkhon Valley & Waterfall
UNESCO-recognised, Orkhon Valley is known for its rich history and beautiful scenery, the highlight of which is the stunning Orkhon waterfall. Surrounded by volcanic rock and green steppe and cascading over 16 metres, this natural wonder is not one to miss. The valley’s greenery and terrain offers a refreshingly cooler contrast to the heat of the neighbouring Gobi Desert in the hotter summer months. During time in the Orkhon Valley, you can immerse yourself in a Mini Naadam festival, a smaller version of Mongolia’s most celebrated festival. Here you can enjoy the country’s most loved sporting traditions and enjoy archery and horse-racing up close.
Khustai National Park
Khustai National Park is the home of the last species of wild horse, Przewalski's. Once extinct in the wild, over the past few years, conservation efforts have reintroduced and increased the population of these beautiful creatures. Home to diverse and beautiful landscapes, the horses aren’t the only wildlife you will spot here. Throughout the park you may see red deer, golden eagles and even rare marmots. Here you can enjoy travelling through the grassy plains and observe the local habitats and native wildlife from the comfort of a four wheel drive.

I am a keen traveller, so guiding guests for me is more of a passion than a job. I believe that being very communicative, flexible and open-minded is crucial for making peoples' holiday the best one yet. I try to provide as much interesting information about Mongolia as possible, so that guests will also share the excitement and satisfaction during their trip.

I have been working as a tour guide since 2002, and since then I have explored Mongolia from the Gobi Desert to the Altai Mountains. The diversity of landscapes and cultures is what makes Mongolia great. I would love to share this knowledge and experience with you on a tour.
Batchika was a very good guide and became a friend who gave his day off to help me search for a gift. Thank you for a wonderful trip to MongoliaMs Gleddan
The best part of guiding for me is seeing the spark in the eyes and smile on the faces of my group seeing and learning something about my country. The visitors constantly inspire me with questions, motivating me to research further. Guiding is the best way to meet different people from all across the world, I thoroughly enjoy it.
From the Gobi drive to the camel ride on the sand dunes, I experienced great service in a great country.Ms Warden
