Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City, depending on who you ask, is Vietnam’s biggest city and financial powerhouse. This city, careening towards a bright and powerful future, was once the ‘Pearl of the Orient - many timeless relics of colonials and revolution still line the streets, still proud as the glass malls and skyscrapers fly up around them. No matter where Saigon has been, or where it is going, the city of today is a haven of culture and commerce, full of bright young things sipping on coffee and eating what is claimed to be Vietnam’s best food. Add all this to being close to the natural beauty of the Mekong Delta and the resourcefulness of the Cu Chi Tunnels and you’ve got an incredibly diverse place to explore.
