Fly overnight to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, also known as the 'Paris of the East'
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town as well as a visit to the Shanghai Museum (B,L). The next day, walk along the famous Bund, explore the restored Xintiandi area and enjoy a cruise on the panoramic Huangpu River. (B,L)
Fly to the beautiful city of Guilin. On arrival, visit the Seven Star Park, home to the Giant Panda, and the Seven Star Caves. (B,L)
Cruise the stunning Li River to Yangshuo and visit the local markets. (B,L). The next day, explore Yangshuos beautiful countryside and take part in outdoor activites (paid for locally). (B,L)
Return to Guilin and fly to Xian, the former ancient capital and enjoy a Shui Jiao dumpling meal followed by a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing. (B,L,D)
After their fortuitous discovery in the 1970s, the Terracotta Army of Chinas first Emperor Qin Shihuang has intrigued visitors ever since. Spend the morning viewing the enigmatic ranks of life sized warrior. Visit the workshop of the craftsmen who recreate Terracotta Warriors in the style of their ancient counterparts. Watch the skilled production process and buy a souvenir warrior to take home. Later stroll on the beautifully preserved 14th century city walls that enclose Xians old town. (B,L,D)
Visit the Little Wild Goose Pagoda and the renowned Shaanxi Museum. Also walk through the lively Muslim Quarter. Later, fly to Beijing. (B,L)
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing. Start your touring at Tiananmen Square followed by a walk through the Forbidden City. Later, watch a Chinese Acrobatic show. (B,L)
Walk on the Great Wall and visit the elegant Summer Palace. (B,L). The next day, tour the unique Beijing hutongs by rickshaw, later visiting the spiritual Temple of Heaven. Say farewell to Beijing this evening with a succulent Peking Duck dinner, a favourite of the Chinese emperors. (B,L,D)
